Happy Father’s Day to all! I am proud to recognize Police Officer Ruiz for his exceptional service to our community. I have awarded him a Commander's Day off for Father’s Day! Officer Ruiz was chosen because his outstanding work ethic on patrol is perfectly mirrored by his dedication at home as a father. While on patrol, our officers heard gunshots ring out nearby. Without hesitation, they ran directly toward the sound. Upon arrival, they observed a suspected gunman, prompting an immediate foot pursuit. During the chase, the suspect tripped and dropped his firearm. Officers quickly apprehended him and safely recovered the weapon. Thank you to our dedicated officers for their bravery and for keeping our community safe.

Criminals are using platforms like Facebook Marketplace to target sellers and buyers for robberies. Do not meet at private residences. Always meet in a public, well-lit place—ideally, a designated Safe Exchange Zone at any police station.

Safety Tips:
💡 Meet in public: Choose crowded, well-lit, or surveillance-monitored areas.
👮 Police Stations: Use Safe Exchange Zones (lobbies or parking lots).
👥 Bring a friend: Never go alone to meet a stranger.
🚩 Trust your gut: If a buyer/seller refuses to meet in a safe, public place, walk away.
