Eckerd Workforce Development at Bronx Community College offers training services to out-of-school youth, age 16 - 24, who are not in school and not employed. We are dedicated to educating our participants about skills needed to be successful in the workforce. Our goal is to help participants find long-term employment or further their education, either with referrals to educational program such as
HSE, College Prep or opportunities for advanced training credentials. We offer five components in our training, including:
- Work Readiness: Learn how to create a resume, cover and thank you letter, professionally interview, build work ethics, and use job search skills.
- Your Role in the Green Environment: Learn the aspects of a safer and greener work environment. Accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research.
- OSHA Credential: Learn basic construction safety regulations needed for construction work. Accredited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
- Computer Assembly Training: Learn to assemble a computer from scratch and acquire the ability to build, troubleshoot, and maintain computer hardware.
- Customer Service: Prepare for the field of service by learning appropriate language, service skills, understanding customer cues, and situational assessment. Upon completion of our program, Henkels and McCoy Training Services provides follow-up services for participants, including incentives for obtaining employment or continuing education.
