✨ Women Wednesday Spotlight! ✨
Today, we’re celebrating one of the incredible women on our team who helps make an impact in the playground industry across public agencies in NYC! 💪🌳🛝
From creating spaces where children can play, explore, and grow to helping bring exciting playground projects to life, women like Tracie play an important role in shaping the places and communities where families make lasting memories.
What you do:
I am North East Recreation’s sales territory manager for commercial playground and recreational areas for all public agency projects inside the 5 boroughs of NYC.
I handle all aspects for my scope of work on a project including working directly with those agencies, designing playgrounds or recreational areas for their architects, providing general contractors with project proposals, and working with those general contractors in managing my scope of work with them from the very beginning to its final completion.
How long:
I have worked in the commercial playground industry for 10 years with the last 4 years being with Play On Holdings (Great Lakes Recreation and North East Recreation). Prior to commercial playgrounds I worked for approximately 28 yrs in many aspects of the commercial aluminum business including its extrusion, fabrication, factory scheduling, sales support, and ending with project managing custom window, storefront, and curtainwall equipment for multi-level buildings in Chicago and NYC.
What brought you to this industry:
Change of pace and sense of professional and personal fulfillment.
What excites you about this industry:
I love this industry simply because it brings joy to others.
A joy that is palpable when visiting any playground or recreational area. Seeing the enjoyment of others, especially children, when utilizing an area that I helped in some way to create provides a sense of happiness and achievement.
Favorite aspect of job:
Simply just designing and providing exciting playgrounds for inner city areas that may not have always had access to them before, or updating ones with modern equipment and inclusivity for everyone.
