I will be voting a "Hard NO!" on this request. That's one degree below a "Hell No"! We have zero evidence that the FIRST $ 1 billion has benefited anyone. We do, however, have real evidence of how much money is siphoned off from a public school district when a voucher is given. Riddle me this: If we can give parents $10K to take their child OUT of a public school, why can't we give parents $10K to "KEEP" their kids in public school? What would such a program look like?

This is the first year for education savings accounts, which allow Texas families to use taxpayer dollars for private and home schooling.
