As America celebrates its 250th birthday, we're honoring the people who helped build The Colony from the very beginning!

Martha Kimberling and the Kimberling family will serve as Grand Marshals of our 2026 Independence Day Parade, representing the legacy of Chuck Kimberling - The Colony's first Volunteer Fire Chief. Riding alongside them will be "The General," the department's beloved 1952 fire truck, which rolled in The Colony's very first Fourth of July parade back in 1976.

Join us July 4 at 10 a.m. The parade starts at Peters Colony Elementary and will end at The Colony High School.

Wave hello as history rolls by! 🚒

Just now from the National Weather Service Fort Worth 8 a.m. Sunday: With another storm complex slowly moving across North Texas, we are continuing to monitor the potential for additional areas of flash flooding. While flash flooding will continue to be possible across all of North Texas today, the greatest threat this morning will be for northern portions of the DFW Metroplex and surrounding areas. Please be sure to have multiple ways of receiving NWS warnings for your area, and check road conditions/closures before any travel today.
