Check out this article on electrek.co about Wy’East’s Executive Director, Robert Wallace, and how much money he is saving by driving his new 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV truck in comparison to his 2023 RAM 3500 diesel truck. What started as a LinkedIn post blew up and turned into a national article! Thank you to electrek.co and the author Jo Borrás for sharing this story.

Join Wy’East RC&D in attending Sustainable Northwest’s final webinar of 2025 to learn more about what work is being done at the intersection of clean energy and the state’s rural and agricultural communities. During the call, Wy’East will be discussing updates on USDA’s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant. At this time we anticipate that REAP reimbursement grants can fund up to 25% of energy efficiency improvement projects or renewable energy system projects for the small business/applicant’s use.

Additionally, the Oregon Department of Energy will present on the Oregon Rural & Agricultural Energy Assistance (ORAEA) program information including business eligibility, how to access the program, ways that participants can save energy and money, and more details about how an energy assessment can help you plan for the future. As a reminder, this program offers technical assistance and energy program navigation to any rural or agricultural organization and formal energy assessments to businesses that meet the eligibility requirements for a REAP grant application.

This webinar is free for anyone to attend on Dec 9, 2025 at 1:00 PM! Please register at https://tinyurl.com/yupkuteb

Last week Sustainable Northwest hosted its annual, and very successful, Fall Energy Symposium in the Rogue Valley in southern Oregon!

Attendees got to be a part of various tours, panels with energy experts, and opportunities to make connections with other amazing organizations from across the state. There were important conversations about growing resilience in rural areas, fund-stacking, micro-grids, wildfire preparedness, and advancements in the renewable energy sector. This event always provides a way to bring people together with various backgrounds, perspectives, and from different regions of Oregon.

A big thank you to for putting this multi-day event together, and for all of the great work they do.

Wy’East RC&D is excited to be part of a statewide campaign that launched last week called EVmath.org! EVmath’s purpose is to help rural Oregonians save money by switching to an electric vehicle (EV).

EVmath.org is sharing the stories of 10 EV trailblazers across the state who are saving a lot of money thanks to their EV, including Wy’East’s Executive Director, Robert Wallace.

Check out EVmath.org. The website features a simple, user-friendly cost savings calculator, an FAQ page, and access to an EV expert for help.

Now is the time to spread the word about EVs-
In less than one month the Oregon EV rebate program will be ending due to limited funding. The Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program will suspend the Standard Rebate on September 8, 2025.

On September 30, 2025 the federal EV tax credit will expire as well.
