What an honor to be part of such a great VFW Post and Auxiliary! We have purchased almost $500 in socks and shoes for our homeless and Veterans! Candy Canes and stockings heading out to show our love! Blankets and wreaths to our Seniors at Regent Care, and our Post getting the Pledge into our local preschool and students in after school care !
VFW Aux 12024 donated 41 lap robes and 5 more wreaths to residents of Regent Care Senior center for Christmas gifts

Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day occurs on December 7 of each year, designated in memory of the lives lost in the 1941 attack and to remember that we enjoy freedom thanks to their sacrifice. The attack claimed the lives of 2,334 servicemen and servicewomen and wounded another 1,143.
On Monday, December 7, 2020 in honor of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, the American flag should be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset to honor those who died as a result of the attack on U.S. military forces in Hawaii.

This Post and Auxiliary 12024 The Woodlands continue to make a difference in our community! 27 hats made for BSA Troop 407 for their winter camp out, Meals on Wheels monthly donation, Pearl Harbor candlelight remembrance, mat making for our homeless, each of these programs have Veterans who are served! MAKING A DIFFERENCE one Veteran at a time!!
Our Post & Aux are partnering with Blankets of Love to provide shoes and socks for our homeless. If you would like to donate $ or supplies, please let me know! We need these items by Dec 14.
Tonight our Post and Auxiliary will honor and remember Pearl Harbor with a candle light ceremony.

Some updates on what this Post & Auxiliary 12024 The Woodlands have been doing for the months of Oct & Nov Trunk or Treat at Xplor Preschool, Recognition of Women in the Military, Meals on Wheels donations monthly, Toys for Tots donations at District meeting, Wreath donations to local nursing facility, and 40 bags of donations for Thanksgiving in a Bag! Our Auxiliary also placed 3rd with the beautiful Buddy Poppy Doll at our District meeting!
Veterans Day is Wed Nov 11 but in our Auxiliary everyday is Veterans Day! This auxiliary remembers our Veterans daily with grocery support through monthly Meals on Wheels donations, visiting our shut in Veterans, care packages to deployed, honoring our female Veterans, honoring and recognizing those who served and never returned home and training our youth about Patriotism because of the brave men and women who served!
Remember to THANK A VETERAN today, tomorrow and everyday!

This is the start of a three day weekend, enjoy the weekend and be safe, but please take some time to remember those that gave the ultimate sacrifice.
