The weather-related incident at Saint Theresa Church has been resolved. Emergency vehicles have cleared the scene, and there was only minor damage to the church.

A special thank you to the Theresa Fire Department, Mayville Fire Department, Lomira Fire Department, Allenton Fire Department, Neosho Fire Department, Kekoskee Fire Department, and Mayville EMS for their prompt response and professionalism. The situation has been safely addressed and has now been turned over to our facilities manager for any necessary repairs and follow-up.

Thank you to everyone for your cooperation and for avoiding the area while emergency crews worked safely. We appreciate your support and patience.

Emergency vehicles are in the area. For everyone’s safety, please avoid the area and allow first responders to work without interference.

At this time, there is no danger to the public, and no injuries have been reported. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated as additional information becomes available.

🚑 Expanding Our Commitment to Serving the Village of Theresa! 🚓

The Village of Theresa Police Department is proud to announce that four of our officers have successfully completed Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) training and are now fully licensed EMRs.

This is another important step in our commitment to providing the highest level of service to our community. Our newly certified officers will work alongside our outstanding partners at Mayville EMS, providing additional support on medical calls throughout the Village of Theresa.

Over the past several months, Mayville EMS has consistently provided excellent response times and exceptional care to our residents. This new capability is not intended to replace their service—it is designed to enhance it. By having licensed EMRs on our police department, we can begin providing immediate medical assistance while Mayville EMS is en route and work side-by-side with their crews once they arrive.

Whether responding to a medical emergency, traffic crash, or other critical incident, our goal is simple: deliver the best possible care as quickly as possible when every second matters.

We are incredibly proud of these officers for the time, dedication, and hard work they invested to earn their EMR licenses. Their commitment reflects our department’s ongoing mission to continually improve the services we provide to the Village of Theresa.

🚨 Public Safety Notice 🚨

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and Columbus Police Department are currently involved in an active tactical situation in the area of Rec Road and Temkin Road in the Town of Elba, just south of the City of Columbus.

Residents in the immediate affected area are being asked to shelter in place until further notice due to an immediate and ongoing safety concern. Members of the public should avoid the area to allow emergency personnel to safely conduct their operations.

We understand that some residents in surrounding communities, including the Village of Theresa, may have received shelter-in-place notifications. At this time, those notifications apply only to the affected area near Rec Road and Temkin Road in the Town of Elba.

There is no shelter-in-place order for the Village of Theresa at this time.

Please continue to monitor official updates from the involved agencies and avoid the area until the incident has been resolved.
