Edit: Both horse are home and safe now. I would like to share our appreciation for all the help, especially from a young lady who helped locate the final horse and get a halter on until the owner returned. Thank you.

This morning we received a report of two wandering horse on US Route 5 south of Latham Rd. Since then one of our two wandering horses is back home safe, and we’re still looking for the other one. If you spot any horse on the loose around Thetford, just let us know! The second horse is brown with a green blanket.

New Speed Limit posted today on VT Route 113 between US Route 5 and the New Hampshire border. After receiving requests from the public, Town of Thetford Officials reached out to the VT Agency of Transportation to explore reducing the speed limit to increase pedestrian safety. After reviewing the information and area, the State of Vermont determined the speed limit would be reduced from 40 mph to 35 mph. This also created a continuity for the speed limit when traveling from East Thetford to Lyme, NH. Please be aware of the speed limit change. Thank you.
