City of Thibodaux - City Office Closure: Labor Day
Press Release Published on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 3:00 PM

In observance of Labor Day, City of Thibodaux offices will close on Monday, September 7, 2026. The Warren J. Harang Jr. Municipal Auditorium will also be closed to walkers on the aforementioned day. Trash collection schedule will not be interrupted. Normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Thank you to the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce, Lafourche Chamber of Commerce and Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce for putting together this outstanding event and bringing our regional business and community leaders together.

UPDATE FROM ENTERGY AT 4:00 PM: Entergy has completed switching customers over, and only 41 customers remain without service until repairs are complete.

UPDATE FROM ENTERGY AT 3:00 PM: Entergy is in the process of switching some customers over, so the number of outages is expected to be approximately 100 to 150 customers while repairs are being made.

Currently, Entergy has reported that residents near Nicholls State University may be experiencing a power outage due to a burned jumper. Entergy is on scene and reports that about 365 customers are without power. The estimated restoration time is 4:00 PM.

We’re looking for energetic, dedicated individuals to join our team at the Wastewater Treatment Facility. No experience is required — we’re happy to train the right person. If you already have wastewater treatment experience or hold a Louisiana State Wastewater Treatment Certifications, that’s a big plus.
