On this anniversary day of multiple Hurricanes that have impacted our community, I want to take a moment to highlight the partnerships among local governments and the legislature that have delivered nearly 500 million dollars for the tri-parish area in drainage improvements and levee projects.
Working closely with Mayor Kevin Clement, Parish President Mitch Orgeron, Parish President Jason Bergeron, and our three levee districts creates an unprecedented partnership delivering real solutions from years of complex problems.
There is more work to complete, more funding to secure, and homes to protect in the years to come. You have my commitment to continue these working relationships and deliver state and federal dollars to avoid raising your taxes!

Standing for traditional family values, constitutional principles, and liberty are easy votes in the State Capitol. Earning a perfect score from LFF is one of the only “scorecards” I really pay much attention too.

Today, LFF released the 2026 Legislative Scorecard, which serves as a tool for assessing lawmakers on key votes during the 2026 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature. View the scorecard: http://bit.ly/2026lffscorecard

Years of working with multiple Fire Marshals and in collaboration with Fire Chiefs across Louisiana, this has become a reality. As Louisiana continues to be a leader in the refining industry across the globe, it’s time to return FETI back to the premier industrial training facility it once was! The municipal fire service should receive the full benefits of a state of the art training institution!

Good job to all who helped make this a reality!

The state fire marshal’s office taking control makes it easier to acquire funding and more accessible for local departments.

[7/19 11AM]
🌀Tropical Depression Two has formed in the east Gulf.

Tropical Depression Two is expected to move toward the Louisiana and Mississippi coasts by midweek. While no immediate impacts are expected for the next couple of days, minor to moderate impacts increase by Wednesday.

Here is what to look out for during the midweek timeframe:
💨 Wind: Tropical storm-force gusts are likely, especially along and south of the I-10/12 corridor. This could cause isolated power outages.

🌊 Coastal Flooding: Minor to moderate coastal flooding is possible, primarily on Wednesday.

🌧️ Rain: Coastal areas could see 1–3 inches of rain. High rainfall rates could lead to localized flooding if the track shifts further north.

🤔 Confidence: Forecasters have lower-than-normal confidence in the storm's exact intensity, meaning impacts could still be adjusted. Stay tuned to local weather updates as the forecast develops!
