The Lafourche Parish District Attorney’s Office is proud to recognize Investigator Warren Callais on earning Full Accreditation as a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist through the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR).
ACTAR accreditation is a nationally and internationally recognized credential that reflects advanced training, experience, and expertise in crash reconstruction. Approximately 1,600 professionals worldwide hold this distinction across countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates.
Accredited crash reconstructionists use physics, engineering principles, and specialized software to evaluate factors like speed, direction, impact angles, and driver input. The goal is to piece together the sequence of events, providing a clear, evidence-based understanding of the crash.
Investigator Callais began this journey in December 2022, attending intensive reconstruction training classes, and has since completed more than 600 hours of specialized instruction in traffic accident reconstruction. He also successfully completed a rigorous examination process, demonstrating proficiency in the scientific and analytical methods used in reconstruction work. This accomplishment represents a significant investment of time, discipline, and dedication.
ACTAR-accredited reconstructionists are also required to complete ongoing continuing education, 80 hours every five years, to maintain their certification, ensuring they remain current with evolving technology and best practices.
This is a meaningful professional achievement that highlights an advanced level of training within an already demanding field. Please join us in congratulating Investigator Callais on this accomplishment and thanking him for his continued service to Lafourche Parish.
