“Dog looks sick.” That was all the information we had when our field officer went out to look for this little pup.

“Sparkles” was lathargic, her tiny body riddled with parasites, and had a gnarly eye injury.

One of our AMaZiNg BISSELL Pet Foundation veterinarians made sure that Sparkles was all fixed up, and just a few weeks later, she’s looking like a million bucks— and has been adopted! Happy life, Sparkles! ✨✨

🗳️ Be Informed. The pets and people of Lafourche Parish depend on it.

The upcoming Buildings & Maintenance Millage Renewal plays an important role in funding the operation and upkeep of many parish-owned facilities. The building and maintenance millage renewal will be on the June 27th ballot, and early voting begins this Friday! This renewal supports the maintenance, utilities, insurance, and operation of public buildings across Lafourche Parish and is a renewal of an existing millage for the continuation of services.

For the Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter, a significant portion of our operating budget is funded through this millage. These funds help cover essential expenses such as building maintenance, utilities, and insurance, allowing our staff to continue providing animal care, field services, and support to the residents and animals of our community.
