Announcing our first-ever theater day camp for Tucker County kids! Register TODAY for Aug 3–7 (3rd, 4th & 5th graders) or Aug 10–14 (6th, 7th, & 8th graders). Registration link at cottrillsoperahouse.org/camp!

Campers will learn the dynamics of stage presence and movement, acting techniques, character design, scene development and comic timing. They will design their makeup and costume, invent a character, learn to handle props, create sets, and practice choreography and song. We’ll also learn about the history of vaudeville and its importance to the historic mining and logging communities that surround us. Register now!

The Opera House board would like to thank our neighbors at White Grass XC Ski Area! Their wreath-making workshop festively kicked off the holiday season — and it also raised funds for the Opera House!

A quick progress update: we finished repointing the Opera House’s exterior brick walls this summer. Now, we turn our attention to the long-awaited interior renovation. Meanwhile, we are programming and hosting local arts events. Much more to come soon!

We are grateful to be a member of this amazing community!

On November 22, The Opera Singing Chef, Elizabeth Podsiadlo, held a book-signing for her “culinary ghost story,” Songspell. The book includes over 50 recipes — and it’s set in Cottrill’s Opera House!

Get in the festive spirit with a wreath-making workshop! Whitegrass Ski Touring Center will host their annual event this Sunday, November 30 at 1 PM. Proceeds will benefit Cottrill’s Opera House!

Whitegrass will have limited supplies of greens, wreath forms, and wire, but please do bring your own greenery and decorations to share!

Cottrill’s Opera House was thrilled to welcome Bob Thompson and his jazz quartet to Timberline Mountain last night! What an amazing way to kick off Leaf Peeper’s weekend!

We’ll continue to stage events like this one, celebrating the performing arts and anticipating the full restoration of the Opera House itself.

Help us raise funds for the long-awaited renovation of the Opera House! Sign up for our team in Tucker Community Foundation’s “Run for It” 2K/5K race during the Leaf Peepers Festival (last weekend of September).

You can walk the 2K or run the 5K, either in person or virtually! Organizations receive bonuses based on number of team members, so please share this sign-up link far and wide!
