The Village Board of Trustees will be holding a Special Board meeting on Thursday April 30th at 6p.m. at Village Hall (101 W. Main St.)

Golf cart registration is due April 30th. Please call Mayor Jeff Robertson at 217-417-0049 to have it done ahead of time.

We will also have a registration event at the Public Works building on May 2nd from 10am to noon.

April 13th through 17th and 20th through 24th the Public Works department will be flushing water mains. Do not be alarmed if you see some discoloration in your water as they get things cleaned out.

If you would like to become a trained storm spotter the free training is Tuesday the 7th of April at 6:30p.m. at ILEAS Training Center Auditorium,1701 E. Main St., Urbana, IL 61802. Everyone is welcome to come and learn something new while helping out our amazing Village!

Good morning Thomasboro, I would like to share the criteria set for the outdoor warning sirens by the Champaign County EMA that we follow. We are using the same guidelines that the City of Champaign, the City of Urbana, the UofI, Savoy, Pesotum, Sidney, Fisher, and Tolono all use. 1. Any portion of Thomasboro boundary is included in any NWS TORNADO WARNING polygon as posted by the NWS. 2. If a trained spotter sees and reports a tornado on the ground; wall cloud having internal rotation aloft and is approaching Thomasboro or is occurring within Village limits. 3. Any portion of Thomasboro boundary is included in any NWS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING with a tag of DESTRUCTIVE damage (the threat is at least 2.75 in diameter(baseball size) hail and/or 80mph thunderstorm winds). The sirens will be set off for a 2 minute period and then shut off, this does not mean the threat has passed, you should be in your safe space until the warning is lifted by the NWS. The sirens will not be set off again during an event unless the warning has been extended for Thomasboro. I hope this helps everyone to understand when the outdoor warning sirens are going to go off.

There is a lot of information out about the storms this evening. We do have someone to set sirens off if the need arises. With the enhanced risk and the move up to a 7 out of 10 for chance of tornado, I have been watching things closely. Please make sure you are weather aware and have your emergency items ready to go. IF we have to open the shelter at the Lutheran Church, remember there are no dogs allowed due to issues that have happened. We all love our pets like family and want them safe too. Be prepared and aware today!
