The union for Thomaston’s police officers, Clocktown Police Union, has mailed its 2026 appeal letter. Mailboxes in Thomaston will be receiving this letter in the mail soon via USPS. South Main Street evening & overnight milling & paving Sunday 6/14 thru Thursday 6/18 5PM-5AM. Expect heavy delays especially in the evening hours. Avoid the area. Route 8 exits 38/39 bypasses the area.

Congratulations to Officer Ballance on his promotion to the rank of Sergeant with the Thomaston Police Department. In a brief ceremony this afternoon, Sergeant Ballance was sworn in by Thomaston First Selectman Rich Sileo.

Sergeant Ballance now joins Sergeant Lanoie and Sergeant Crea as the department’s three Patrol Sergeants.

On Thursday, Detective Koval and Detective St. Onge, of the Thomaston Police Department were invited to the Thomaston Senior Center meeting to give a presentation about scams targeting seniors and elder fraud. We thank you for the invitation and hopefully everybody present learned some tips to help protect themselves from the many types of scams out there. Remember, slow down, verify the source, and ask for help from a trusted family member before taking any actions involving financial decisions.
