Georgia Students & Teachers: Bring History to Life!

The 9th Thomaston-Upson Archaeology Day is a great chance to connect classroom lessons with real archaeology. Students can discover Indigenous technologies and ways of life, see how archaeologists study artifacts, try traditional skills, and bring arrowheads or stone artifacts for identification.

Georgia Curriculum Connections:
• Grade 2 Georgia Studies - SS2H2: Creek and Cherokee cultures (tools, homes, and ways of life).
• Grade 2 Georgia Geography - SS2G2: How the Muscogee (Creek) and Cherokee used the natural resources of Georgia.
• Grade 8 Georgia Studies - SS8H1: American Indian cultures in Georgia and the effect of European exploration and settlement.
• AP U.S. History - Unit 1 (1491–1607): Native American societies, their adaptation to the environment and their various cultures prior to European contact.

Teachers and students, consider adding this free educational event to your plans.

Join the Ocmulgee Archaeological Society and the Upson Historical Society on Saturday, November 14th, and see how artifacts help tell the story of Georgia's Indigenous peoples.

Parents of seniors participating in **Football, Football Cheer, Band, Color Guard, ROTC Color Guard, R***e Team, and Cross Country** — please make sure you have completed your **Senior Night Form** and turned it in to the ULHS Athletic Department!

📣 **DEADLINE EXTENDED!**

The original deadline was Friday, October 9, but we have extended it to **WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21!**

If your senior plans to participate in our traditional **Senior Night walk across the field this Friday, October 23**, we need your completed form by Wednesday! If your Senior in these activities does not turn it in by Wednesday, they cannot participate.

We want to make sure EVERY senior who wishes to participate has the opportunity to be recognized alongside their family during this special Upson-Lee tradition!
