🎉 THOMASTON — IT’S OFFICIAL! DAVE’S MARKET IS COMING BACK! 🎉

Well… Y’ALL GUESSED IT! 👀🛒

We’ve had SO many great guesses over the last few days, and we have absolutely loved seeing everyone’s theories, comments, and excitement!

And if you guessed Dave’s Market is returning to Thomaston… YOU GUESSED RIGHT! 🎉❤️

A familiar name. A familiar place. And a piece of Thomaston history is getting a new chapter. ❤️

Many years ago, the old Marengo County High School Gymnasium was transformed into Dave’s Market. After serving our community for years, the store eventually closed — but the story doesn’t end there.

After a tremendous amount of work, dedication, and a few setbacks along the way, Dave Oliver is bringing Dave’s Market back to Thomaston! 🛒

And we couldn’t be more excited.

Dave’s Market will offer a great meat market, fresh produce, groceries, and more — truly making it a one-stop shop for our community and surrounding areas.

And the prices? Cost + 10%.

There’s something especially meaningful about seeing this building come back to life. The building itself is a large part of Thomaston, Alabama’s history, and if you look closely, you can still see pieces of its past — including the old basketball goals from its days as a high school gymnasium. 🏀

📚 Help Us Preserve Our History!

The Town of Thomaston is working to preserve the rich history of our community, and we need your help!

If you or someone you know has Marengo County High School yearbooks, photographs, memorabilia, newspaper clippings, programs, or other historical items, we’d love to add them to our historical collection at Town Hall.

These items help tell the story of our community and allow future generations to learn about the people, places, and traditions that have shaped Thomaston. We regularly have visitors, former students, researchers, and families stop by looking for information and photographs from Marengo County High School and the Town of Thomaston.
