Eighth graders at TCMS took part in a leadership and team-building workshop Friday led by Camp Crosspoint. These students, who are members of FFA, FCCLA, and the Leadership Council, worked through activities designed to strengthen communication, build trust, and sharpen problem-solving skills.

The workshop was a hit! 🙌 Sixth and seventh graders will get their turn on Tuesday. We can’t wait to see these future leaders in action! 🐝

🚒🚑 Big trucks, curious minds, and lots of great questions!

Thomas County Emergency Services stopped by Hand-In-Hand Primary School this morning, giving our little Yellow Jackets a close-up look at the fire trucks and ambulances that help keep our community safe.

The kids loved exploring the vehicles, asking questions, and learning about the important work our emergency responders do every day!

A big thank-you to Thomas County Emergency Services for taking the time to visit and make learning so much fun! 💙💛🐝

It's an off week for the Central football team, but the SwarmCast crew will return this week to review the Tift County victory with head coach Justin Rogers, preview the region championship game with Coffee County, put a wrap on the softball season, look over the projected PSR standings and potential playoff scenarios, and much more!

💰 Building Financial Know-How at Thomas County Academy!

Retired business owner Bill Raney recently visited Cory Lee’s Financial Literacy and Introduction to Business classes to share practical insights on investing and managing money. Students learned about investment options, including stocks, bonds, certificates of deposit, and savings accounts, and asked plenty of great questions along the way!

We appreciate Mr. Raney taking the time to share his knowledge and help our students build skills they can use long after graduation. Thank you for investing in our students and their future! 💙💛🐝

🎷 10 SPOTS. WHAT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT! 💛💙🐝

Congratulations to our talented TCCHS band musicians who made an incredible impression at the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) District 2 Jazz Ensemble auditions on Monday, October 5!

Out of just 21 available positions, TCCHS claimed 10 spots — nearly half of the entire ensemble! 🎉 This outstanding achievement reflects the exceptional talent, dedication, and hard work of our jazz musicians and the strength of our band program.

The GMEA District 2 Jazz Ensemble will come together at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton on February 4–5, 2027, to rehearse and perform.

🚌☀️ Bus safety in action at Garrison-Pilcher!

Yesterday, our Transportation Department helped students put bus safety into practice! From safely loading and unloading to learning the proper way to ride, our Yellow Jackets got hands-on lessons in being safe and responsible bus riders.

And with beautiful weather, it was a perfect day for a bus ride! 💛

🏆 A BIG honor for TCCHS math teacher Billy Esra!

Billy Esra has been awarded the John Neff Award by the Georgia Association of Advanced Placement Mathematics Teachers (GA²PMT), recognizing his outstanding contributions to AP mathematics education across Georgia!

The award honors AP math teachers who demonstrate excellence in the classroom and go above and beyond to support and strengthen AP mathematics instruction beyond their own students.

For more than 15 years, Mr. Esra has been an active member of GA²PMT, serving in numerous leadership roles, including president, and currently as a regional representative on the board. He has also presented sessions on AP Statistics, sharing innovative teaching strategies and insights with fellow educators across the state.

We are incredibly proud of Mr. Esra and his dedication to his students, his profession, and advancing mathematics education! Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! 💙💛🐝
