Southwest District ARES The Southwest District ARES handles emergency communications for 20 counties. Our watchword is "When All Else Fails - Amateur Radio."

The Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES) consists of licensed amateurs who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment, with their local ARES leadership, for communications duty in the public service when disaster

strikes.The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is dedicated to helping served agencies when events cause the total loss of communications.
