The Akin Water District will be accepting bids for a creek-bore replacement project. Bids will be opened Friday, February 13, 2026 at 10:30am.

There is a boil order for Akin Water District. It includes all Pleasant Hill Rd, King Rd, and Shelton Rd customers until further notice. It also includes Amos Rd and Thompsonville Rd., East of the tracks on each road. Hoover Rd from Shelton Rd to Pleasant Hill Rd. The Akin Water District is pleased to announce that the new bulk water station has been installed and is now fully operational. The station is conveniently located at the Eastern Township yard on Main Street in Akin.

From the intersection of Baseline Rd and Ross Briley Rd to Route 34 and from Baseline Rd to Mace Rd. You are under a boil order until further notice. There is a break in the main line and the maintenance personnel are working on it.

Our area is forecasted for a potential winter storm followed by sustained freezing temperatures beginning Sunday, January 5. Make sure your pipes are protected from the extreme cold. If the weather gets as bad as they are predicting, getting out for supplies to make repairs may become very challenging.
