The Thomson High School FFA Cannery opens June 2. Bring your fresh garden produce to be canned. Items that can well include tomatoes, peas, peaches, apples, blueberries, and beans. Other items to consider canning are juices, spaghetti sauce (no meat), soups (no meat), salsa, applesauce and pie fillings. The cost is $1.25 per quart sized can. For more information, contact FFA Sponsor Rick DuBose at [email protected]. The Cannery will be open on the following dates:

June 15-17
June 24-26
July 6-10
July 20-23

Our Summer Meals program begins May 26. Meals are available to children 18 and under Mondays to Thursdays. The Thomson High site will be open through June 18, and the Maxwell Elementary site will be open through July 2. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meals must be consumed on site. Check the news section of our website for details.

We are currently monitoring the weather for Friday evening’s Thomson High School graduation. The goal is to hold the ceremony in The Brickyard if the weather permits. Because of that, we will make a decision as late as possible on Friday. That may mean a slight delay of the start time. If lightning is in the vicinity, the ceremony will have to be held in the THS gymnasium. Parents and students will receive notification through Remind, and the community will be notified through the system’s social media accounts.
