The House passes the Farm Bill

The farm bill passed the House.

A few amendments that are included:
- Rep. Luna's bill to strip pesticide liability protections
- Save Our Bacon Act
- Hot Rotisserie Chicken Act
- Rep. Steube's provision stopping foreign adversaries from purchasing American farmland.

"This Farm Bill was not written in the halls of Congress, but in the fields and rural communities across our great nation. Every provision is a direct reflection of what we learned during each of the more than 150 listening sessions the Agriculture Committee held." House Ag Committee Chairman Glenn Thompson, via X.

Year-round E15 language was removed from the bill. Members say it will be voted on separately after recess.

It was a good race, but at the end of the day I didn’t come out ahead. I worked hard and ran for all the right reasons. Thanks for everyone who was encouraging and supported me through this race. I have met so many great people along the way.

Julie Bickelhaupt is the kind of Leader in Congress that Illinois needs now!
As a fellow multiple-generation farmer and county board member, I am always excited to see people who know, produce from, and protect the land step up to serve their neighbors. She has already shown her leadership skills as a county board member who has additionally taken on the chairmanship.

I have also had a fond spot in my heart for Mt. Carroll as my aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother attended Shimer College.

It is my great honor to lend my full-throated endorsement to Julie Bickelhaupt in her much-needed race to serve the people of northwestern Illinois in Washington as our Congressional representative. Godspeed, leader!

The County Clerks office will still be open for early voting.
