Congratulations to Scott Frei on his new position with Thorndale ISD as the 504 Coordinator and Thorndale High School English Teacher! We are excited for Mr. Frei as he begins this new role. Please see the attached letter from Mr. Frei:

"Hello Thorndale,

Frei here writing to share a bit of news I am extremely excited about. I will be returning to English classroom in the fall. I am extremely grateful to Mr Kleypas for listening to my passion and the pull in my heart to teach again.

I am blessed to have worked with an amazing staff at Thorndale Middle School. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together. Thank you each for your hard work and dedication to kids during my time as your principal.

The call of the classroom simply never left me during my time as principal. I am thrilled for this opportunity to serve in Thorndale ISD.

Due to ongoing construction, Thorndale ISD campuses, including the PLAYGROUND and PAVILION, will be closed to the public unless attending summer school.

If you are unable to access an office or reach someone by phone due to construction, please visit or contact the Thorndale ISD Administration Office and we will gladly assist or direct you.

53 years! 💛🐾

That’s right — Ms. Betty Cuba has dedicated 53 years to Thorndale ISD! A proud Thorndale graduate, she has spent decades loving our students, supporting our staff, and helping keep Thorndale Elementary running smoothly each and every day. From instructional aide to the familiar face in the elementary office, Ms. Cuba has impacted generations of Bulldogs.

Her dedication, kindness, and love for this community will never be forgotten. While she will be dearly missed, we are so excited for her as she begins this well-deserved retirement chapter.

Greetings Bulldogs,

After last night’s heavy rainfall and how wet it has made our football field, combined with the predicted future rainfall, we have decided to move our graduation ceremony indoors. After considering local options, and consulting with our seniors on thus options, we have reserved the Taylor ISD Event Center Auditorium at 3101 N. Main Street for SATURDAY, 5/23/26 at 7:30.

I realize that many in the community may wonder why this decision was made over other options. I can assure you that many discussions and heavy consideration was taken. Unfortunately, the Taylor Auditorium, the local Fireman’s Hall, and other nearby district venues with enough space to hold our event were not available Friday night, as many districts are making the same call we are out of the abundance of caution.

Additionally, spaces on campus such as the cafeteria or the gym create issues for us with regards to the number of available seats, views during the events, and acoustics. One of the best things about Thorndale ISD, is our community and families come out to celebrate our students success, and limiting who gets to attend, is always a last resort. Lastly, as mentioned above, when meeting with the senior class about these options, the overwhelming consensus was to move to Saturday, in Taylor.

We know and understand that Texas weather is unpredictable, but every moment we wait to make a call to move the event only causes more scheduling dilemmas and problems for our graduates and their families.

We hope you will join us Saturday to celebrate our outstanding seniors in their accomplishment. Doors will open at 6:30pm.
