💛 GOLD OUT SPIRIT DAY! 💛

Thorndale ISD showed up in GOLD today! 🎗️ From our littlest Bulldogs to our high school students and staff, our campuses came together to support Childhood Cancer Awareness.

We love seeing our Bulldogs unite for something bigger than ourselves. 💛🐾

Greetings Bulldogs,

We are SO excited for our first home varsity football game Friday night! We expect a large crowd on both sides. Thus, we wanted to share a little bit of information regarding parking options due to the current construction.

First, as you will notice on the attached map that the main home parking is still located in the section by the middle school (old HS). Additionally, there is overflow parking on the side by the gym against Moerbe street. Visitors will now have parking in the new high school with overflow available near the city baseball field.

One adjustment this year is that we have moved the visitor ticket booth to the small building directly under the visitor stands. In doing this, we created many additional handicap spaces along the fence that can be used by home or visiting fans.

Additionally, we are locking the gate on the visitor side and the previous visitor ticket booth to keep cars from parking inside the fence. We feel this will help with congestion and safety. If you would like to bring a lawn chair or folding chair and place it along the fence inside the stadium you are welcome to do so. NOTE: If you have historically parked inside the fence along the section where you must remain in your car, please contact central office for an additional option that may be available to you.

For everyone else, come early, be loud, and be ready to support our Bulldogs as they take on Rogers!

Thorndale ISD will be closed Monday, September 7th for a school holiday.

Classes will resume on Tuesday, September 8th. Enjoy the long weekend, Bulldogs!

🎗️ GOLD OUT PEP RALLY! 🎗️

This week’s pep rally theme is GOLD OUT — wear GOLD as we come together to show our support for childhood cancer awareness. 💛

The form will close Thursday at 2:00 PM.

✅ Visitor badges will be pre-printed for those who have previously had their driver’s license scanned this school year. Badges may be picked up at the front of the THS Gym 10 minutes before the pep rally begins.

👉 If you have not had your driver’s license scanned at a TISD office this school year, please do so prior to the pep rally.
⚠️ After 2:00 PM Thursday, the form will no longer be monitored. After that time, visitors will need to check in through a campus office.

Parents, we see lots of posts sharing what’s going on with your students at TISD - and we love it! Please do us a favor and remember to tag T-Mobile , Thorndale ISD , and use hashtags and as we make a push for more than just the $5000 check that will be presented at Friday Nights’ game vs Rogers. Rogers also won the first week $5000 from T-Mobile so let’s make this a friendly competition and show them what community support really looks like!

As we continue Striving for Excellence, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the hard work of our students and staff while also refocusing on the areas where we can continue to grow and improve — always, in all ways.

⭐ How is an A–F rating calculated?
A school’s overall rating is based on three areas, or domains:

• 70% comes from the higher score between Student Achievement (how much students know) and School Progress (student growth and performance compared with similar schools).
• 30% comes from Closing the Gaps, which looks at performance among different student groups.

🏆 What are Distinction Designations?
Distinction Designations recognize schools and districts for exceptional achievement, generally representing performance in the top quartile compared with similar schools or districts.

Schools may earn distinctions in Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Academic Growth, Closing the Gaps, and Postsecondary Readiness.

We are proud of the progress being made throughout Thorndale ISD and grateful for the students, staff, families, and community who continue to help us Strive for Excellence!
