It is a privilege to attend the National League of Cities annual City Summit. This event is a wonderful opportunity to learn what other cities are doing to solve problems and create strong communities. I attended sessions on Vision Zero, after school programs, developing historic/cultural highlights around a city, and more. This year’s event in Tampa was informative and inspiring as NLC celebrated 100 years of helping cities thrive.

Due to the latest forecasted weather conditions, all district-managed schools will be closed on Friday, November 8.

This closure includes: all classes, before-school programs, childcare programs, pre-K classes, the Transitional Learning Center program, administrative offices, and after school athletics and activities.

Charter families: please check your school’s website for any potential weather notifications.

The Bob Sakata Resource Campus will be closed. The Family Resource Center located at the Brighton Learning and Resource Center will be closed.

Just a reminder, there is no council meeting tonight because it is Election Day. You can drop your ballots off at dropboxes throughout the city until 7 o’clock tonight. You can also vote in person.

Our 8th celebration of Dia de los Mu***os was just fantastic! This event has grown every year and is enjoyed by so many community members!! This is a day to remember. Thanks to Congresswoman Caraveo for joining the fun! Huge thanks to the volunteers and staff who made this such a wonderful success!
