What an incredible National Night Out! On behalf of the Thornton Police Department, thank you to everyone who came out to spend the evening with us. Seeing so many families, friends, and community members together made this year’s event a tremendous success.

A special thank you goes out to our dedicated National Night Out Committee, our volunteers, surrounding public safety agencies, vendors, and all of our generous sponsors. Your time, hard work, and support helped create an evening filled with fun, education, and community spirit. Events like this are only possible because of the amazing people and businesses who step up to make them happen.

We also want to thank everyone who participated, asked questions, met your local first responders, and helped make the evening one to remember. We truly appreciate the opportunity to connect with our community outside of emergency situations.

We are monitoring potentially dangerous weather moving into our area this evening. The Thornton Police Department will have all available resources on the road during the storm to help keep the community safe. Please use extra caution, slow down, and avoid unnecessary travel if conditions worsen throughout the night.

Watch for downed power lines, which may still be energized, and never touch or go near them. Keep away from flooded areas, stay clear of trees or branches that may fall, and report any emergencies right away. Please check on neighbors, secure loose outdoor items, and keep phones charged in case of power outages. Stay alert, stay safe, and allow first responders room to work.
