I started on a journey 17 years ago with Michael Martin Murphy to bring a way of life, that I have worked and loved, back here so that others could experience a piece of the west. With countless support and sponsors in Canaan Valley, Frontier Fest was born. For 4 years we had hundreds of people come from 33 states to participate on 4 day celebrity trail rides to Dolly Sods and breakfast rides, exhibits and demonstrators at Timberline ski resort. In 2004 I began building here on the farm, with blood, sweat and help of many volunteers throughout the country Frontier town was created. Our exhibitors followed us here to hoping to spark interest and educate school children on a way of life, that's been left in the past. Over the years thousands of school children have been through our gates.
This would not have been possible without our demonstrators who have stuck by me through thick and thin, for that I thank you. We have created life long friendships and are like family. Frontier Fest is now at an end, but Frontier town will host other events in the future. I am now devoting my time to running for Sheriff of Taylor Co, and if I am successful, will require all of my time. So again, I say thank you to all the sponsors, workers, performers, volunteers and support from the community and state I've had for the last 17 years. It's been a heck of a ride. May God Bless this great nation that I love.
