What an incredible evening at Columbus Elementary School! Last night’s 5th Grade Spring Concert showcased the talent and hard work of our CES musicians across three groups, and they did not disappoint.

The Troubadours opened with a beautiful set that included Dancing Through Life, Full Moon, Remember Me, and Hard Knock Life. It was a crowd favorite that had the audience smiling from start to finish.

The Honor Band followed with an impressive program: Glorioso, God Bless America, Sahara Adventure, Armory, and a showstopping performance of Thriller that brought the energy to a whole new level.

The Fifth Grade Band closed out the night with six strong performances: Regency Fanfare, America the Beautiful, Union March, The Gauntlet, Crazy Train, and a special highlight: Ignition!, an original composition by CES band teacher Mr. A. How cool is that?

A special shoutout to last night’s program cover artists Eisley Martin (Butterfly) and James Sanzo & Andy Kirchhausen (Band Instruments), whose artwork set the perfect tone for the evening.

We are so proud of every single student who performed.

It’s a big day for Wildcat Athletics! This afternoon, we celebrated seven Westlake seniors who are taking their talents to the next level. Of the nearly 8 million students who play high school sports in the U.S., only about 7% go on to compete at the NCAA level. Today, we celebrated seven Wildcats who put in the work to get there.

Congratulations to our college-bound student-athletes:

📣 Kolby Moody — American University, Division I Cheerleading
🏈 Luan Celaj — Bentley University, Division II Football
📣 Jillian Lyden — Pace University, Division II Cheerleading
🏀 Marcus Jackette — Pace University, Division II Men’s Basketball
⚽ Ava Lynch — Western Connecticut State University, Division III Women’s Soccer
🥍 Hailey McCloskey — Western Connecticut State University, Division III Women’s Lacrosse
⚽ Ethan Orrego — Purchase College, Division III Men’s Soccer

We are so proud of each of you. Best of luck as you represent Westlake at the next level!

The final Student Council meeting of the year at Columbus Elementary was a sweet one! Fifth grade officers and committee members were celebrated before everyone headed out for popsicles and playground time. A huge thank you to our Student Council families for all their support this year, and to advisors Christine Galbo and Maureen Valvano for guiding this amazing group. Almost there, Wildcats!

What a night to celebrate! 🏆 GianMarco DelDuca, Jozsef Varadi, and Nicholas DiNapoli were honored tonight at the 75th Annual Con Edison Scholastic Sports Awards Program at Davenport Mansion in New Rochelle. These three Wildcats earned weekly “Athlete of the Week” recognition throughout the season and joined honorees from across the region for this milestone celebration. Every year, Westlake’s theater club rewards its top 50 point-earners with the ultimate field trip: Metro-North into the city, dinner together, and a show. This year, the group caught The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at New World Stages and our own Emily Denler didn’t just watch: she got pulled on stage to compete as an audience speller!

Congratulations to Emily and to all the students who earned their way to this year’s trip and to the program that makes experiences like this possible, year after year.
