Wheels up for 26 RivCo dogs! ✈️

Thanks to Wings of Rescue and our rescue partners, these pups are headed out for fresh starts, brighter days, and new opportunities ahead.

We are grateful for the rescue partners who help make space in our shelters by opening their doors to some of our dogs. A flight like this takes a lot of people working together, including our shelter teams, transport crews, flight crew, rescue partners, and the behind-the-scenes staff who help get every pet ready for the journey.

These 26 dogs are getting their next big chance, and their flight also helps pets still waiting at Coachella Valley Animal Campus and across all of the Riverside County Shelters.

Chubbs got to spend time with a FIDO volunteer, and he was so happy to be out and about. 💙

This 3-year-old Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix got a break from the shelter and spent the day doing exactly what dogs should get to do: explore, play, enjoy some attention, and just have fun being a dog. His outing gave him a chance to stretch, relax, and show off the happy, goofy side people might miss when they only see him in a kennel.

Chubbs has been waiting since Feb. 7, which means he has spent more than four months hoping someone will notice him. Days like this help people see the sweet, playful dog behind the kennel door, and Chubbs still has so much love and joy to give.

He is already neutered, and his adoption fee is waived, so he can go home the same day he is adopted. Meet Chubbs here:

34 RivCo pets are one step closer to a fresh start. ❤️✈️

On June 9, 15 dogs and 19 cats left Riverside County on a Wings of Rescue flight to Seattle Humane, where they’ll have new opportunities to be seen, loved and adopted.

These transports take a lot of care and coordination, from preparing pets for travel to safely getting them to their next stop. They also help create much-needed space in our shelters for more animals who need care here in Riverside County.

Thank you to Wings of Rescue and Seattle Humane for helping these pets continue their journey.

There are still many pets waiting for their chance. Visit RCDAS.org/adopt to meet pets available now.

Tiny kittens need big hearts. Right now, our cat population is over 140% capacity, and every day more underage kittens arrive in our care.

Kittens under eight weeks old are the single most vulnerable population in our shelter system. They are too young to be adopted and need the safety and comfort of a foster home while they grow.

The good news? You do not have to do it alone.

RCDAS provides all the supplies, training, and support you need. Whether you can foster for a few weeks or longer, your home gives kittens the chance to thrive while creating much-needed space for other animals in need.

One foster home saves lives.

34 RivCo pets packed their little suitcases and took a Wings of Rescue flight today to begin their next chapter with Seattle Humane. 🐾✈️

These flights help shelter pets reach communities where they have a better chance of finding homes, while also creating much-needed space in our shelters for the animals still waiting for their turn.

Every adoption, foster, and donation helps make moments like this possible. Your support helps give pets more chances, more space and more happy endings.
Thank you to our partners at Seattle Humane and Wings of Rescue for helping these pets take off toward brighter futures. ❤️

Second chances come in many forms.

For Kenny, that second chance came through our Ironwood Dog Foster Program, where incarcerated caretakers David and Daniels are helping him build confidence, practice good manners, and prepare for life in a forever home.

This partnership with Ironwood State Prison provides shelter dogs with daily structure and companionship while creating much-needed space in our overcrowded kennels. Dogs in the program work on leash walking, crate sleeping, and basic manners, helping them become more adoptable.

Kenny joined the program in April and has been thriving. Now, he's ready for the next step: finding a family of his own.

Watch David and Daniels share what Kenny has meant to them and learn more about the impact of this unique program.

Kenny is one of more than 40 available dogs available for adoption through the program. Adoption fees are waived and include spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip and an engraved name tag.

Visit rcdas.org/ironwood to learn more about the program and how to adopt Kenny, who is ready to go home with you today.

If you would like to support the dogs and caretakers in the program, you can donate items from their Amazon Wish List! Items will be sent directly to Ironwood State Prison. This list is managed by the Ironwood staff and changes based on their needs.
