The Thrall Police Department is dedicated to providing the best police service possible to all citizens. Who can make a complaint?

"Our mission is to actively stand with the people of our community; to protect their lives and property, defend their constitutional rights, and solve problems through collaborative partnerships built on absolute transparency and mutual respect." Employees are carefully selected and trained to provide service to the community. This page gives an overview of the ways to commend exemplary performanc

e or file a complaint against a Police Department Employee. Commendations
If you see a Police Department Employee perform outstanding work, tell the employee - or us - about it. Following are suggestions for commending an employee. How to commend a Police Department employee:
• Write a letter or a note to the Police Chief at:
Thrall Police Department
PO Box 535
Thrall, Texas 76578
Commendations are logged and placed in the employee's permanent personnel file.

• Call the Police Chief at 512-923-0939 and notify him of the deed or action in question.

• If you are unsure of the employee's name, describe the employee and list the specific actions or demeanor that impressed you. Mention the location, date, and time the incident occurred. Complaints
The Thrall Police Department is vitally interested in taking action when its employees are derelict in their duties or are guilty of wrongdoing. Your complaint will be given a fair and thorough investigation. The person who believes they have been wronged may file the complaint; other persons may give statements as witnesses. How to make a complaint
When a citizen has a complaint against a Police Department Employee, they may contact the Police Chief. A complaint against the Chief will be made to city hall and reviewed by the Mayor and/or council. Allegations of serious misconduct will be forwarded to the Police Chief or City Hall, located at 102 Main Street in Thrall, telephone 512-923-0939 ( Police Chief) or 512-898-5306 (city hall). Texas Law requires that all complaints against police officers, which may result in disciplinary action, be in writing and signed by the person making the complaint. Complaints of misconduct that are less serious in nature need not be in writing. Complaints must be made within 30 days of the incident unless special circumstances exist. The Thrall Police Department takes all complaints seriously and will fully investigate each complaint received. False Complaints
Filing a false complaint against a police employee is a violation of the Texas Penal Code, Section 37.02. If a person knowingly and intentionally makes a false statement under oath or swears to the truth of a false statement previously made under oath, a person may be found guilty and punished by a fine of up to $4000, confinement in jail up to one year, or both fine and punishment. What happens when a complaint is upheld? When the investigation finds that the charges against a police employee are true, the Chief of Police notifies the employee and may take one of the following actions:
• reprimand the employee verbally or in writing
• suspend the employee without pay
• demote the employee
• discharge the employee
Employees can appeal the Department's decision to uphold a complaint and the decision to discipline the employee. What happens when a complaint is not upheld? Complaints must be supported by sufficient evidence. When the investigation cannot find the degree of evidence necessary to prove the employee acted improperly, the employee and the citizen are both notified in writing. What if you are not satisfied with the outcome? You may appeal the findings to:
• The Office of the Police Chief

Just going to toss this out there, so that those that do not understand, will know that this persons life was probably spared because the officer "blocked" a portion of a lane. While this is not an everyday occurrence, it can and has occurred. If you have not walked the walk, I understand and will listen to you talk about your inconvenience, but I will continue to support an officer who chooses safety over the inconvenience of someone having to slow down or move over.

Have a great weekend and Happy Mothers day to all the mothers and the men that complain about traffic stops.

One of our neighbors here in the city has been having a rough go at it. Having lost their home to fire several years ago and now a leaking roof on the existing abode, they are stressed. While speaking with the resident they mentioned they had an estimate from a roofing company out of Georgetown. We contacted the company, explained the situation, told them that we have some discretionary funding (donations) to assist this neighbor and it needs to be scheduled. The owner of the family run business called back and said they would get it done, at zero cost. Yesterday they showed up, coated the roof and snuck away. They do not want any credit or mention for this good deed so we must abide with those wishes. I am posting this picture so that others needing roof work done can see the excellent job they did for us and know they are a fantastic roofing company. Do not call asking for the name or contact info for this GREAT roofing company because it will not be released.

Officer House made a traffic stop and found that the operator had several outstanding warrants. Warrants were confirmed and operator was taken into custody. While completing the inventory and after speaking to the operator, the officer located around 7 grams of co***ne and a heap of a handgun. Approximate street value of the co***ne, around 15 gallons of diesel fuel with a rewards card. The operator, "Tony Montana", was shuttled over to the Wilco Graybar motel for his extended stay and continental breakfast.

Feel good story about folks handling business. A couple of weeks back our agency was contacted by a company that had a dump trailer stolen out of Austin in July of 2025. While the original cost of the trailer was $15000, insurance told them it was now below a $10000 value ceiling so it was just a business loss. They accepted the loss but were always watching social media and equipment sale pages for their trailer.
Patience paid off, the trailer showed up on marketplace for rent. These folks contacted the original agency but the wheels of justice turn slowly. They then contacted their local agency but again everyone seemed too busy. We explained to them that if they were to rent the trailer, VIN is still attached and listed as stolen that we would take the 10 minutes needed to recover and return the trailer. Call was received, met with the Magnum PI crew who rented the trailer, checked the VIN which was still intact, confirmed stolen, shown recovered and released back to the real owners.
Awesome job to the crew and company that refused to be a victim.

With all the tension regarding the recent rash of burglaries I want to update the community on our vehicle burglaries that occurred in the city on March 25th. We had the suspect vehicle identified that day, a white, four door Toyota Tacoma. On April 1st we made in person contact with one of the four occupants in that Tacoma at his residence where he admitted his involvement. All the info we have gathered has been shared with our local sheriff's office as well. While I cannot release more information due to the ongoing investigation I do feel that this crew will avoid our area.

Doh, folks that partake of our local city park we need your help. We know how much folks love their fur babys and we love to see yall in the park with your dogs. Recently we have been seeing a lot of dog mines, poo pies, butt muffins or whatever you want to call piles of stuff. If you bring your critter to the park please bring along something to clean up their mess with. Over the spring break we saw a lot of children enjoying the park and it is not fair that they have to step gingerly to avoid the smelly surprises.
