The Summer Reading Program "Unearth A Story" starts on Monday, June 1st. If your PreK-5th grade child was enrolled in TCISD for the 2025-2026 school year, information was sent home the last week of school. Kindergarten through 5th-grade students have AR goals they are working towards for the challenge. PreK & Under, along with any homeschooled children, are working towards checking out and reading at least 15 books for the challenge. Come by the library to turn in your forms and/or pick up forms, more information about upcoming events, reading logs, and activity sheets. Each child who completes the challenge by July 29th will earn a trip to the Whiteside Museum in Seymour, along with other prizes. Keep that summer reading slide at bay by participating in the library program! We look forward to seeing you!

We had our last Story Time of the school year today down at The Depot Library! We enjoyed a yummy sunflower cookie for our snack before we learned about sunflowers in the book A Seed Grows by Antoinette Pontis. Then we colored the life cycle of a sunflower and made a cute sunflower to take home. Each child was a given a gift of their very own book from The Depot Library, too. We have had so much fun reading and learning this year at the library! ๐Ÿ“š A big thank you Throckmorton Collegiate ISD for supporting our library programs this year. ๐Ÿ’œ Be on the lookout for information about our summer reading program that will be sent home next week and posted on Facebook! Keep the learning going by joining us this summer and checking out books!โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ“š

We had another great Story Time down at The Depot Library! We had earth cookies for our snack and read The Earth Book by Todd Parr. We learned about ways to help our Earth and keep everyone happy and healthy. Then we made a fact wheel to take home to remind us of all the ways we can keep Earth clean for all living things. Thank you to everyone who came to our library program today. We appreciate the support!๐Ÿ“šโค๏ธ๐Ÿ“š

St. Patrickโ€™s Day down at the Depot Library was so much fun! We had leprechaun bait for our snack and our hungry little ones enjoyed it. We learned about the legend of the leprechaun from Ireland. We read Pete the Cat in The Great Leprechaun Chase by James Dean with the PreK group and How to Catch a Leprechaun by Adam Wallace with the K-2nd grade group. Then we made our own leprechauns to take home. We hope everyone enjoyed Story Time today and look forward to seeing everyone next month.

Hope to see you tomorrow! โ˜˜๏ธ
