Town of Thunderbolt Places Fire Chief on Paid Administrative Leave Pending Internal Investigation

The Town of Thunderbolt has placed Fire Chief Odis Boyles on paid administrative leave effective June 4, 2026, pending the outcome of an internal investigation. Recent events warrant formal review, and the Town has taken this action in the interest of protecting the integrity of its public safety operations and the community it serves. During Chief Boyles’ absence, Captain Brandon Runyon will assume operational oversight. Residents should be assured that the Thunderbolt Fire Department remains fully operational and prepared to respond to all emergencies. The Town will provide further updates as appropriate and when permitted by the circumstances of the investigation.

This Memorial Day, the Town of Thunderbolt pauses to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

We extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to the families of our fallen heroes. Today, we honor not only their sacrifice, but the loved ones who carry their memory forward each day with strength, pride, and love.
