Tree Canopy Project Pickup Reminder:
Saturday, September 12
9:00 AM - Noon
Tiffin Auxiliary Fields - 100 S. Park Rd (see attached map for the exact location and traffic flow)

Can't make the pickup time? If you're unable to pick up your tree during the scheduled pickup window, please contact Cade before pick-up day at [email protected] so arrangements can be discussed. Trees that are not picked up and have no prior communicated arrangements may not be able to be held after the event.

Before planting your tree, please remember to call 811 to have underground utilities marked on your property.

A huge thank you to Forever Green Nursery for sourcing 100 quality trees at cost and working with the Tiffin Canopy Project to make this opportunity possible.

As you prepare to plant your new tree, please consider Forever Green for soil, mulch, stakes, and other planting and tree-care supplies. Planting and care information is attached and will also be provided with your tree at pickup.

- Kinetic Fiber Construction Update -

The City has been receiving questions from residents about the utility locates taking place throughout Tiffin. These locates are part of Kinetic’s (Windstream) work to complete a fiber optic upgrade to their network.

Kinetic has installed the main fiber lines throughout the City’s right-of-way and utility easements. Fiber is not automatically being connected to every home. Utility locates are required before the final fiber drop can be buried, which is why residents may see locators marking utilities in their yards or along their property.

Siren Test and Extreme Heat Warning

As a reminder, the outdoor warning sirens will be tested at 10 am today.

Extreme Heat Warning now in effect through Friday along/south of I-80 corridor; Heat Advisory to the north through Thursday. Dangerous heat expected to continue with peak heat indices in the upper 90s to 105° .

The City of Tiffin is hiring for two exciting part-time positions at our NEW Tiffin Recreation Center!

We’re looking for:
Recreation Center Attendant I
Recreation Center Attendant II

This is your opportunity to help open and operate a brand-new, approximately 46,000-square-foot recreation center and be part of creating an amazing experience for our community!

What will you find at the new Recreation Center?

Gym space:
• 4 youth basketball courts OR 2 adult basketball courts
• 12 basketball hoops
• 4 volleyball courts
• 6 pickleball courts

Turf area:
• 2 batting cages
• Turf sports training area
• Kids' play area

Exercise & fitness:
• Free weights and cardio
• 2 fitness studio rooms
• Walking track with three lanes (approximately 1/10 mile)

What we're looking for: friendly, dependable, customer-focused people who enjoy working with the public and want to help make the Recreation Center a welcoming place for everyone.

Recreation Center Attendant I: Employees will assist with customer service, memberships, registrations, facility monitoring, cash handling, events, and daily operations. The position is open to applicants 16 years and older.

Recreation Center Attendant II: Employees will perform those same duties while also serving as an on-duty facility lead, providing direction to other part-time staff and helping oversee facility operations when full-time Parks & Recreation staff are not present.
Applicants must be 18 years or older. Permanent part-time positions. Flexible scheduling, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
