Kiwanis Manor of Tiffin HUD Section 8 Affordable Housing for Seniors (62+). Kiwanis Manor has 72 one-bedroom apartments, 18 one-bedroom deluxe apartments and 8 efficiency apartments.

We are proud to announce that Michael Porter, one of our residents, received some well deserved recognition yesterday. Michael was named the 2026 Outstanding Senior Citizen for Seneca County, by the Area Agency on Aging5, yesterday in Mansfield, Ohio.

The event was very nice, with much attention given to detail. There were several dignitaries in attendance, including Seneca Counry Commissioner, Bill Frankart.

Kiwanis Club of Tiffin Chemo Care Bag

The Kiwanis Club of Tiffin is continuing its tradition of providing chemo care bags for cancer patients at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital. Chemo care bags consist of items such as fleece blankets, fuzzy socks, silky scarves, handmade hats, puzzle books, word search books, journals and pens, playing cards, Chapstick, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, mouthwash, Oral B mouth swabs, Queasy Pops, lemon drops, Hershey mints, Hershey Kisses, tote bags and more, all designed to comfort those dealing with a cancer diagnosis and treatment, and letting them know that our community cares and wishes them the best.

Once the chemo care bags are assembled, they are delivered to the Mercy Cancer Center. Upon request, the bags can also be provided to patients utilizing another cancer center such as The James in Columbus. The Kiwanis Club of Tiffin is seeking support from businesses and individuals for monetary donations or item donations to help support this effort in reaching even more individuals dealing with cancer. The cost to put a chemo care bag together is approximately $70.

Today we had Susan Marshall from Senior Medicare Patrol to talk to us about Medicare Fraud. Medicare looses 60 billion dollars every year to scams! That is the reported ones! Please look over your EOB (explanation of benefits) to make sure the charges are yours! Several have been caught here at the manor for supplies they never received from physicians they never heard of!

Thursday Senior Medicare Patrol will be doing a presentation for our residents at 2:30 in the Hyatt room. This is a very important issue affecting many Medicare recipient! Here at the manor this has happened to several residents! If you are interested in learning more about this please join me as my guest at the Tiffin Kiwanis Club lunch meeting this Thursday at noon.
