Today, Bryce Riggs and Adam Gillmor had the opportunity to join educators from across Seneca County as the 2026 Seneca County Educators' Bootcamp officially kicked off. We are excited to spend the week alongside this outstanding group of teachers and educational leaders as they gain firsthand exposure to the careers, industries, and opportunities available right here in Seneca County.

During today's session, Bryce and Adam shared insights about local workforce needs, career pathways, and the importance of connecting educators and students to the many opportunities available within our community. By helping educators better understand the businesses and industries operating in Seneca County, we can strengthen the connection between the classroom and the workforce.

A special thank you to John Davoli and Bri Fox from the North Central Ohio ESC for organizing and leading this valuable program. Through the bootcamp, participating educators will also earn graduate credit through Ashland University while building stronger connections with local employers and community partners.

Throughout the week, educators will tour a variety of employers and organizations, including Palfinger, American Plastics - Tiffin Division, the Seneca County Airport, National Machinery LLC, Mercy Health - Tiffin Hospital, the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, Tiell Financial Group, POET, and Bascom Communications. These experiences provide a behind-the-scenes look at the careers, technology, and workforce opportunities that help drive Seneca County forward.

We appreciate all of the participating businesses for opening their doors and investing in the future workforce of our community. We look forward to joining the group throughout the week and continuing these important conversations about education, workforce development, and career awareness.

Today, the Fostoria Area Historical Society partnered with Calico Charlie's Candy & More to bring history to life through a special presentation on Charles Foster, better known as “Calico Charlie.” Featuring Leonard Skonecki in character as Foster, attendees enjoyed an engaging look at the life, legacy, and impact of one of Fostoria’s most notable historical figures.

The event drew a great turnout, filling the shop with community members eager to learn more about local history while supporting two outstanding members. It was a fantastic example of how partnerships between local organizations and businesses can create meaningful experiences that celebrate the people and stories that helped shape our community.

Thank you to the Fostoria Area Historical Society and Calico Charlie’s Candy & More for hosting such a memorable event and helping keep Fostoria’s history alive for future generations.

The new facility represents an investment in both the future of the bank and the future of our community. We are excited to see FNB continue to grow and expand its presence in Tiffin while enhancing the services and experience offered to local customers.

We are proud to have First National Bank of Sycamore as a Seneca Regional Chamber & Development member and wish the entire team the best as construction moves forward.

In Case You Missed It…

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our Collaborative Legislative Luncheon. With nearly 150 attendees, this was one of our largest and most highly attended luncheon events, and we are grateful for the strong support and engagement from our business community, elected officials, nonprofit partners, educators, and community stakeholders.

A special thank you to our event sponsor, Spectrum, for helping make this event possible, and to Brian Young for joining us to share remarks on behalf of Spectrum. We would also like to thank Tiffin University for hosting the event and AVI Foodsystems for providing catering. We appreciate their continued partnership and support.

Attendees heard updates from community and government leaders representing the local, county, and state levels, including Mayor Lee Wilkinson for the City of Tiffin, Safety Service Director Eric Keckler for the City of Fostoria, Seneca County Commissioner Bill Frankart, State Representative Gary Click, and Ohio Senator Bill Reineke.

The luncheon provided an important opportunity to hear about current initiatives, legislative priorities, economic development efforts, and issues impacting the future of our communities and Seneca County. We appreciate all of our speakers for taking the time to engage with attendees and share valuable updates.

Up Next: Our July Luncheon will take place on Wednesday, July 15 at Tiffin University’s Osceola Theatre. We’ll be joined by LeSean Shaw, CEO of Actual Reality Technologies, to discuss building an AI toolkit for everyday success, followed by a Q&A.
