Just returned last week from ICSC at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where I had the privilege of representing the City of Tiffin, Iowa alongside City Administrator Doug Boldt.

Each year, this trip is about telling Tiffin’s story and creating opportunities for our community—and we’re continuing to see real results from those efforts. Projects like Dollar General and the new IHG Atwell Suites are examples of the momentum that comes from the connections we make and the conversations we have at ICSC. We’re also seeing that progress take shape locally, with new businesses like The Firing Pin, Cornerstone Pub, and Tiffin Iron Tap preparing to open and add to the amenities available in our community. In addition to the projects already underway, we have other opportunities and conversations in progress that we’re actively working on as we build on that momentum.

This year, we met with a wide range of retailers, restaurants, and service providers who are actively looking to expand into growing communities like ours. Tiffin continues to stand out. Our strategic location, strong development pipeline, and pro-growth mindset generate real interest from businesses and developers.

That growth is not just something we talk about—it’s something we’re seeing and measuring. Our recent special census confirmed just how rapidly Tiffin is growing, reinforcing what we’ve been experiencing across our community.

But what makes Tiffin truly attractive isn’t just the numbers—it’s the people. Our residents play a critical role in this growth. By choosing to live here, invest here, and build their lives here, they help create the kind of community that businesses want to be part of.

Our focus remains on bringing in high-quality, thoughtful development that adds to our community, meets residents’ needs, and strengthens our local economy.

There’s still work ahead, but the momentum is real. We’re building on it each year—turning conversations into partnerships and plans into progress.

Tiffin’s growth story is continuing to unfold, and we’re excited about what’s next.

Even though it's now 2026, Census representatives are still visiting homes to collect information from residents. This information is essential for ensuring that Tiffin receives funding for roads, maintaining the bike trails and supporting the public works department. If you are not home when they come by, don't worry; they will leave information on your front door with instructions on how to get in touch with them. Please make sure to follow up so your home is counted!

If you haven't been counted, please call today! 319-545-2523
