Thank you for your assistance!

Columbian business students are “Bound to be a Boss in Boston!”

Four outstanding student teams from Columbian High School will travel to Boston, Massachusetts, this June to compete at Future Bound by Junior Achievement, JA’s pinnacle national event celebrating student achievement in business, finance, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

Future Bound brings together students, educators, and industry leaders from across the United States for hands-on learning experiences, national competitions, and workshops led by experts in innovation, entrepreneurship, and business. Students will gain real-world insights and critical skills around money, jobs, and entrepreneurship while competing on the national stage.

Representing TCHS in the JA Stock Market Challenge will be The Fluffy Unicorns: Ainsley Graham, Audrey Sharp, Gracyn Brose, and Claire Bartolo. The National JA Stock Market Challenge tests students’ financial literacy, strategic decision-making, communication, collaboration, and adaptability through a fast-paced, real-time investment simulation.

Three TCHS teams will compete in JA Titan, a dynamic business competition where students serve as company executives making critical decisions involving profitability, strategy, market conditions, and social impact. Representing Columbian are: Titan Tornadoes – Sophia Schmidt and Lily Allen, TC TOOF – Landon Hinke, Neil Schimmoeller, and Russell Fox, Fantastic Four – Jessalyn Cornett, Jasmine Miller, Liam Hartson, and Jaelyn Manning.

These students earned Junior Achievement scholarships that help cover the costs of lodging, meals, and competition expenses associated with Future Bound. They have also been working hard to secure sponsorships from local businesses to help fund travel expenses because they are truly “Bound to be a Boss in Boston!”

Their participation in opportunities like these is possible because of strong classroom experiences, supportive families, community partnerships, and local businesses that continue to invest in our students and their futures. Congratulations and good luck to all of our competitors as they represent TCHS on the national stage!

Mrs. Cook would like to send a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the 5th Annual Shark Tank Event such a memorable day!

Over the past week, Cook’s 6th grade ELA, 6th grade Advanced ELA, and 7th grade History students worked incredibly hard preparing their ideas, pitches, presentations, and 3D models for this highly anticipated event. Their creativity, innovation, and dedication were truly impressive!

Events like this would not be possible without the support of the TMS staff and community. A special thank you goes out to our wonderful families, TCS Board members, Mayor Wilkinson, Officer Riley, the TMS staff, Cooper the Dog, and Mrs. Cook’s former students for encouraging and supporting our students throughout the day.

Recently, students from Tiffin Middle School had an exciting day of learning at the University of Findlay! Students from the homerooms of Molly Riley, Erin Lawrence, and Robin Gardner explored the Mazza Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of original artwork by children’s book illustrators.
They also visited the Conda STEAM Center, where hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics encouraged creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.

The day concluded with a visit to the Newhard Planetarium and lunch at Henderson Dining Hall.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences and discover new interests in art, science, and technology.

Ms. Nora Zirm’s fourth grade class took a walking field trip to the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library today! The librarians hosted a tour of what happens behind the scenes and how the Dewey Decimal Classification system helps them organize books. The fourth graders even got to borrow some books. It was a great day!

The T-SPL 2026 Summer Reading Program kicks off June 1 and wraps on July 31. There is no better time to see what your public library has to offer. Tiffinsenecalibrary.org/2026summerreading

Columbian’s SADD, Students Against Destructive Decisions, was recently awarded a grant from the Ohio Su***de Prevention Foundation (OSPF) to fund activities during Mental Health Awareness Week at Columbian and Tiffin Middle School. Students chose the theme, "Face The Storm; Carry On" as a metaphor that represents resilience. When a storm approaches, bison tend to face the storm instead of fleeing from it; thereby reaching the other side more quickly and reducing the amount of time they endure wind, rain and chaos. Students received bracelets, socks, stickers, temporary tattoos, cocoa and/or stress relief tea for participating in activities during the week.
