Columbian business students are “Bound to be a Boss in Boston!”
Four outstanding student teams from Columbian High School will travel to Boston, Massachusetts, this June to compete at Future Bound by Junior Achievement, JA’s pinnacle national event celebrating student achievement in business, finance, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
Future Bound brings together students, educators, and industry leaders from across the United States for hands-on learning experiences, national competitions, and workshops led by experts in innovation, entrepreneurship, and business. Students will gain real-world insights and critical skills around money, jobs, and entrepreneurship while competing on the national stage.
Representing TCHS in the JA Stock Market Challenge will be The Fluffy Unicorns: Ainsley Graham, Audrey Sharp, Gracyn Brose, and Claire Bartolo. The National JA Stock Market Challenge tests students’ financial literacy, strategic decision-making, communication, collaboration, and adaptability through a fast-paced, real-time investment simulation.
Three TCHS teams will compete in JA Titan, a dynamic business competition where students serve as company executives making critical decisions involving profitability, strategy, market conditions, and social impact. Representing Columbian are: Titan Tornadoes – Sophia Schmidt and Lily Allen, TC TOOF – Landon Hinke, Neil Schimmoeller, and Russell Fox, Fantastic Four – Jessalyn Cornett, Jasmine Miller, Liam Hartson, and Jaelyn Manning.
These students earned Junior Achievement scholarships that help cover the costs of lodging, meals, and competition expenses associated with Future Bound. They have also been working hard to secure sponsorships from local businesses to help fund travel expenses because they are truly “Bound to be a Boss in Boston!”
Their participation in opportunities like these is possible because of strong classroom experiences, supportive families, community partnerships, and local businesses that continue to invest in our students and their futures. Congratulations and good luck to all of our competitors as they represent TCHS on the national stage!
