This week we're highlighting Fringetree (Chionanthus virginicus).

• Native to Georgia and much of the eastern United States
• Typically grows 15–20 feet tall
• Known for its white, fringe-like flowers in spring
• Produces blue-purple fruits that are eaten by birds
• A smaller tree that works well in residential landscapes
• Deciduous, with attractive yellow fall color

Fringetree will be one of the species available at our upcoming FREE TREE GIVEAWAY.

We are starting a new series where every week we will be highlighting one of our giveaway species!

This week we're highlighting American Hophornbeam (Ostrya virginiana).

• Native to Georgia and much of the eastern United States
• Typically grows 25–35 feet tall
• Also known as Ironwood because of its very hard, dense wood
• Produces small, hop-like fruits
• Provides food and habitat for birds and other wildlife
• A good smaller native tree for residential landscapes
