The purpose of Rabun County Search and Rescue is to provide, as a benefit to the public, specially-trained, volunteer personnel and the equipment necessary for the search and rescue of persons lost or trapped, on either land or water, or otherwise incapacitated and in life-threatening situations at the request of appropriate Rabun County agencies and officials, day or night, within Rabun County, o

r adjoining counties where reciprocal support agreements are established. The mission of Rabun County Search and Rescue is to maintain a state of readiness in order to find the lost, rescue the stranded or injured, recover the deceased, and educate the public through service-above-self, continuous training, and interagency cooperation.
