Trace Ambulance

Trace Ambulance Trace Ambulance was founded in 1996. We provide ambulance transportation services for the greater Chicagoland area.

Trace Ambulance was founded in 1996 to meet the healthcare needs of patients requiring transportation services in the South Cook County and North Will County areas. Our commitment to excellent customer service fueled Trace’s rapid growth from four ambulances to its current size of thirty-two ambulances in just over three years. After Trace’s first ambulance transport on January 15, 1996, the Compa

ny quickly outgrew its small garage in Mokena, Illinois and moved to its current location at 8400 West 183rd Place in Tinley Park, Illinois. Trace provides Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Critical Care transportation services to many hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and dialysis centers. Trace Ambulance is also a contracted 911 provider.

“The road will be long and hard. For the enemy is strong. He may hurl back our forces. Success may not come with rushing speed, but we shall return again and again; and we know that by Thy grace, and by the righteousness of our cause, our sons will triumph. They will be sore tried, by night and by day, without rest -- until the victory is won. The darkness will be rent by noise and flame. Men's souls will be shaken with the violences of war. For these men are lately drawn from the ways of peace. They fight not for the lust of conquest. They fight to end conquest. They fight to liberate. They fight to let justice arise, and tolerance and goodwill among all Thy people. They yearn but for the end of battle, for their return to the haven of home. Some will never return. Embrace these, Father, and receive them, Thy heroic servants, into Thy kingdom.” Franklin D. Roosevelt

🚑 What an incredible few days celebrating EMS Week 2026 at CAA! Trace Ambulance❤️💙

From crew appreciation events and cookouts 🍔🌭 to raffles 🎉, t-shirt giveaways 👕, sweet treats 🍰, and time spent together at HQ, this week was all about recognizing the amazing people who make CAA what it is every single day.

To our field crews, dispatchers, educators, operations staff, billing team, mechanics, supervisors, leadership, and every employee behind the scenes — THANK YOU. EMS is truly a team effort, and it takes every single moving part working together to answer the call and serve our communities. 🚑

A special thank you to everyone who helped organize, set up, grill, coordinate, and make these events possible throughout the week. Your hard work and dedication to our employees does not go unnoticed.

We hope everyone enjoys their Memorial Day Weekend 🇺🇸☀️ whether you’re running calls, working dispatch, covering operations, or spending time off with family and friends. Stay safe, enjoy the sunshine, and thank you again for all that you do.

🚑 EMS Week 2026 🚑 *Improving Outcomes Together*

It’s been a busy and exciting week here at CAA / Trace Ambulance HQ as we celebrate EMS Week 2026 and recognize the incredible people who make our organization what it is every single day.

On Tuesday 5/19, we kicked things off with our Crew Appreciation Breakfast — good breakfast, great people, and even better attitudes! Big SHOUT OUT to our dedicated field crews who continue to show commitment, compassion, and professionalism every day while serving our communities. 👏💙

It truly takes a village, and yesterday we also celebrated our amazing ladies in Billing with lunch and bingo! 🎉 Thank you for everything you do behind the scenes to help keep operations moving and support our crews in the field.

Today, we continue the celebration with our Crew Appreciation Cookout at HQ! 🌭🍔

To every member of the Trace/ CAA family, thank you for all that you do. EMS is a team effort, and together we continue improving outcomes for the patients and communities we serve.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and longtime colleague, Sue Kondracki.

Sue was one of the very first employees at Trace Ambulance. She joined us from the old Vandenberg Ambulance and played a pivotal role in shaping Trace into the organization it is today. In the early days, she single-handedly managed both dispatching and scheduling. As the company grew, she transitioned into the role of Dispatch Supervisor, ultimately focusing on what many consider one of the most challenging positions in our industry—scheduling.

For nearly 30 years, Sue masterfully balanced the demanding task of keeping shifts filled while doing her best to give crews the shifts and partners they wanted (most of the time). Through her work, many of you came to know what we’ve always known: Sue was simply the best.

She was a mentor, a trusted friend, and a “mother” figure to hundreds—if not thousands—of young men and women who walked through our doors. For many, Trace was their first real job, and Sue taught them far more than just how to show up on time. She instilled responsibility, strong work ethic, compassion, and one very important lesson: it’s wise to keep the scheduler happy… or you might be in for a bumpy ride. (You could get Scot, Gerry, Pat, Chris, or Bill upset and survive… but Sue? Never.)
Even after her retirement, Sue remained just a phone call or a quick visit away, and that connection meant the world to so many of us.

Please join us in extending our deepest sympathies and condolences to the entire Kondracki family. May the countless stories and fond memories of Sue bring them some comfort during this difficult time.

Today, we pause to reflect on September 11th. As for many people, for first responders, it is a day that forever changed our world and our profession. We remember the selfless bravery of those who answered the call, the unwavering unity that emerged from the chaos, and the immense loss that still resonates
