The Arc of Monmouth

The Arc of Monmouth That’s why we’re here. And The Arc was born. We have more than 20 locations throughout Monmouth County serving people in their communities.

The Arc of Monmouth is a non-profit agency committed to improving the lives of over 1,600 Monmouth County residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing extensive services and family support. Many families of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) can feel alone, lacking the necessary resources to help their loved ones enjoy fulfilling lives in

the community. The Arc of Monmouth is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency with a mission to improve the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families through comprehensive services, advocacy, community education, and collaboration with our community partners. Before The Arc was founded in 1950, virtually no programs or activities existed to care for young adults with I/DD and allow them to enjoy fulfilling lives in their communities. So, parents and concerned individuals joined together to advocate for their children to have full and independent lives, building a network to support the families. Today our dedicated staff and volunteers provide every support service imaginable so people with I/DD can live and thrive in their community. Some of the life-changing services we offer include the following:

- Adult Services
- Health Services
- Work Opportunity Center
- Recreation
- Residential Services
- Independent Living Program
- College Experience
- The Achievement Zone
- Advocacy and Resources

At The Arc of Monmouth, we are always ready to support and respond to emotional and physical needs, whatever they may be. Whether it’s recreational events, fundraising events, or direct care, our services require the tireless dedication of people of all ages and abilities willing to donate their time to our cause. Through The Arc of Monmouth, lives are transformed. Finally, individuals with I/DD can experience what it's like to be a part of a community, growing and learning new skills that equip them for their future. And families can feel confident their loved ones are set up for success. Of course, we can only do our work with generous donors and volunteers like you. 🚨 Take Action: Protect Medicaid for People With Disabilities!🚨

New Medicaid work requirement rules could create unnecessary barriers for people with disabilities and families, putting critical health coverage at risk due to restrictive definitions and complicated paperwork requirements.

The government is asking for public feedback, and now is the time to make your voice heard. Join us in urging the government to protect Medicaid coverage, reduce unnecessary barriers, and ensure people with disabilities and family caregivers do not lose access to the services and supports they rely on.

People with intellectual and developmental disabilities need your voice now. 📣💙

A 3% COLA (cost of living adjustment) increase for home and community-based services in the FY27 Budget would help protect critical supports, strengthen care, address rising provider costs, and ensure Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are recognized and compensated for the incredible work they do each day.

We need advocates, families, professionals, and community members to speak up. Contact your legislators and urge them to support Senate Resolution #261 and Assembly Resolution #131.
