We are being told that the Box Culvert on Tower Hill Rd could be put in next week 11/14/25. This will require the road to be shut down for a week. The Township is not the one replacing it, but if there are questions we might be able to get you an answer. Thank you for your patience.

July 13th is ! Pennsylvania is home to many kinds of rocks, but there is one rock that has a uniquely special impact on its Pennsylvania landscape—Serpentinite! Serpentinite is a light green metamorphic rock that can be found in parts of Southeastern PA.

Serpentinite has an unusual chemistry with high levels of nickel and chromium, which are toxic to most plants. Because of serpentine’s toxic makeup, we get to witness a unique grassland landscape and ecosystem that has evolved to thrive in this environment in our very own state.

Serpentinite rock is not typically found at the surface, making this landscape rare. That means the plants, like Field Chickweed and Serpentine Aster, that grow there are also rare, and some are even endangered.
