The Tipp City Library began in 1923 as a collection of 1,500 books on the second floor of the old City Building, staffed only by volunteers. It was originally funded by the Women’s Civic Club, and then by local taxes in 1926, becoming a City library. In

1950, the land at the library’s current location was donated by Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, after which neighboring properties were purchased. The library was dedicated at its present location in 1962. A children’s room was added in 1982, and the building went through another renovation creating the adult fiction and teen areas in 1991 with the teen area completed in 1996. Currently, the library collection consists of over 59,500 books, 4,500 movies, and 2,500 books on CD, plus 66 periodical titles. The Tipp City Public Library has been truly lucky in their caring and community-minded staff. Past and present Librarians/Directors include: Ann Shaffer, Lulu Cottingham, Catherine Kessler, Florence Cook, Caroline Weaver, Nancy Stottman McAlpin, Pat Liening, Mark Mabelitini, Anthony Orsini, and, since 2016, Lisa Santucci.

Hey, moms! Whatcha doing tomorrow morning? Grab the little one, stroller and stretch those legs!

Grab your little one and start the morning with the sip coffee co. SIP Mom’s Walk Club! Stop by SIP Coffee Co. at 128 E. Main St. for your favorite coffee then, at 9:30 AM, the group will head out together for a walk to Tipp City Park.

At 10:00 AM, Ms. Wendy will meet the group at the park for a special 30-minute storytime designed for children ages 5 and under. Not joining the walk? You can still join the fun! Meet Ms. Wendy at Tipp City Park near the corner of Parkwood and N. 3rd St. In case of inclement weather, storytime will be cancelled.

Join us for our next SHE Connects event on Thursday, September 17th at 5:30pm🥂

We will be creating t-shirts and buttons at the Tipp City Public Library while enjoying some light snacks and beverages. Come out and learn how you could be saving money on shirts for your business, kids sporting events, or any other occasion.

Every participant will receive a t-shirt and button to create and take home.

Cost is $25 for Chamber Members and $35 for future-Chamber members.

Apparently it’s time to meet the person behind the posts.

Hi, I’m Tiffany! I’m the public relations and communications manager at Tipp City Public Library, which means I’m responsible for a lot of what you see around here — social media, newsletters, photos, videos, and occasionally convincing my coworkers to participate in whatever idea I’ve come up with that day. 📸📚

But enough about me. I spend a lot of time telling you about the library, so I want to hear your library stories.
