🚑 WHEN IT’S AN EMERGENCY, CALL 911 🚑

Not the station phone.
Not a friend.
Not Facebook.
Not the Tik Tok
Not “on the line.”
Not driving to our base (We aren’t always there).
Not “someone you know in EMS”

Here are FIVE important reasons why calling 911 immediately matters:

1️⃣ Fastest Response Possible
911 dispatchers alert the closest available ambulance right away — saving valuable minutes when seconds count.

2️⃣ Crews Get Critical Information En Route
Dispatchers gather details about the patient, location, hazards, and symptoms so paramedics arrive prepared.

3️⃣ You Receive Immediate Instructions
911 can provide lifesaving guidance before crews arrive — including CPR instructions, bleeding control, childbirth assistance, and more.

4️⃣ Multiple Resources Can Be Sent Simultaneously
If needed, dispatch can coordinate fire departments, law enforcement, helicopters, or additional ambulances instantly.

5️⃣ Calling the Office Delays Care
Administrative or station numbers are NOT monitored like 911 centers. Calling a nonemergency number can create dangerous delays in getting help started.

📞 If someone is having chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms, severe bleeding, unconsciousness, serious injury, or any life-threatening emergency:

⚠️ ALSO IMPORTANT:
Please use ambulances for TRUE emergencies. When ambulances are tied up on non-urgent calls, they may be unavailable for heart attacks, strokes, severe trauma, breathing emergencies, and other life-threatening situations in our communities.

Our crews are always here to help — but using 911 appropriately helps ensure emergency resources remain available for those in critical need.

🚨 CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY 🚨

Your quick decision could save a life.

Proudly serving our communities every day.

Good evening!

As we go into the rest of the night for the long holiday weekend we pause and remember the fallen soldiers who fought so bravely for the freedoms we enjoy.

Memorial Day weekend is traditionally the kick off to the Lake of the Ozarks season and our little spot on the map is both connected to the Lake and a major funnel for folks visiting the area.

As of 21:30pm (9:30pm) we have ran a total of 69 911 emergencies since shift start on Friday morning at 6am. Today, the crews working our four (4) ambulances have responded to 24 911 calls!

Thank you everyone for your dedication to our community!

Thank you to our community because you are the best!

🚑🔥 EMS WEEK 2026 — MIDMO AMBULANCE DISTRICT 🔥🚑

This week we celebrate the caffeine-fueled, sleep-deprived, radio-answering, report-writing, “just-one-more-call” surviving professionals of the MidMo Ambulance District.

To the crews who can:
* start an IV in the dark on a moving ambulance,
* eat gas-station food like it deserves a Michelin star,
* explain for the 47th time that the blood pressure cuff is supposed to squeeze,
* and somehow still crack jokes at 3:12 AM…

…we see you. 👏

EMS professionals are part clinician, part therapist, part mechanic, part detective, and occasionally part WWE referee.

You answer the calls nobody else wants to answer.

You walk into chaos while everyone else walks out.

You miss holidays, birthdays, dinners, and sleep — all to serve complete strangers on their worst day.

And despite all that… you still somehow manage to argue passionately over:
☕ the best gas station coffee,
🚑 who forgot to fuel the truck,
📻 whose radio traffic was “unnecessarily dramatic,”
and whether the station thermostat should qualify as a felony investigation.

This week, we celebrate EVERY member of the MidMo family: Everyone who keeps the wheels turning and the system moving!

You are the calm in the chaos.
The steady hands in emergencies.
The reason someone’s worst day had a better outcome.

And yes… we know you’re probably reading this while holding a cold coffee you reheated three times.

Happy EMS Week to the absolute legends of MidMo!

Now clear from the hospital and post for another call. 🚨💪

Well, it’s not Sunday, but I have forgotten to introduce the Sunday Spotlight two weeks in a row 🤨

So, without further forgetfulness, here is your Wednesday afternoon, Spotlight!

This weeks spotlight goes to one of our part time Paramedics, Richard!

Richard has been a firefighter/first responder for about 18 years. “I have always wanted to be a paramedic and about 4 yrs ago I had the opportunity to work a call and it just seemed that this was the right path for me.” Richard started as an EMT for the first 3.5 years, and about 8 months ago he graduated University EMS program with his Paramedic license! In his off time, Richard enjoys spending time with his family, in the outdoors, and taking trips. When asked what he enjoys most about EMS, Richard states, “I think that it is a privilege to be able to bring the hospital to those who need it.”

If you see Richard out and about, give him a welcome!

Today, MID-MO staff participated in our quarterly medical director training with Doctor Stilley of the University of Missouri.

Doc provides the framework of our medical protocols to help ensure that current evidence based practice is applied to the folks we manage daily.

Additional training was delivered by our Battalion Chief/Supervisor David Woodward regarding the development of a safety culture for both the patient and the provider.

🚑 Congratulations to the 2026 EMT-Basic Class! 🚑

The Mid-MO Ambulance District proudly celebrates the successful completion of our 2026 EMT-Basic Program.

These graduates have demonstrated dedication, resilience, and a commitment to serving others as they completed rigorous classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, and real-world clinical experiences. They now move forward prepared to provide high-quality emergency care and make a meaningful difference in the communities they serve.

We commend each student for answering the call to serve and wish them continued success as they pursue certification through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and begin their careers in EMS.

👏 Please join us in congratulating the 2026 EMT class on this outstanding achievement!

Your community is stronger because of you.

On behalf of our EMT class instructor cadre:
