Moniteau County Emergency Dispatch is excited to announce the launch of our new Public Reporting Application.
Originally developed to assist with non-emergency reporting following severe weather events, this tool now provides residents with a quick and convenient way to report a variety of non-emergency public safety concerns directly to the appropriate agencies.
Using the app, you can report:
โก Power Outages
๐ณ Trees Blocking Roadways
๐ Missing or Damaged Road Signs
๐ง Traffic Hazards
๐ Road, Bridge, and Culvert Issues
๐ง Utility Problems and Water Leaks
๐ช๏ธ Storm Damage
โ๏ธ Weather Reports
๐ฅ Controlled Burns
โฆand much more.
Why We Built It?
During severe weather events, Moniteau County 911 becomes easily inundated with reports of utility issues and traffic hazards.
While every report is important, each non-emergency call also ties up a dispatcher and a 911 phone line that may be needed for someone experiencing a true emergency.
During develop we decided this can be used for more than just severe weather events an expanded its functionality for daily use as public reports are instantly displayed onto our event map.
Our goal is simple; Keep 911 available for emergencies while still ensuring non-emergency issues are reported quickly and efficiently.
How It Works:
Every report submitted through the Public Reporting App is automatically displayed on the Moniteau Emergency Portal Map, allowing Emergency Management and responding agencies to view incidents in real time, identify areas of greatest need, and prioritize resources more efficiently.
When Should I Use the App?
Use the Public Reporting App for non-emergency issues that need attention but do not require an immediate emergency response.
๐จ If you have an emergency, a crime in progress, a fire, a medical emergency, or any situation where life or property is in immediate danger, always call 911.
By using the Public Reporting App for non-emergency concerns, you're helping keep emergency phone lines open for those who need them most.
