Thank You from the Tipton Fire Department
As we begin to recover from the recent flooding event, the Tipton Fire Department would like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to the many individuals, agencies, and organizations that came together to serve our community during this challenging time.
First, we would like to recognize the Tipton County 911 Dispatchers. Every emergency begins with a call for help, and they are the first voices people hear. Throughout this event, they handled every emergency and non-emergency call that came in, often under difficult and stressful conditions. Their professionalism, dedication, and calm demeanor helped ensure that resources were dispatched quickly and effectively. They truly do not receive the recognition they deserve, and we thank them for their outstanding work.
To our neighboring fire departments and emergency response agencies, thank you for the assistance and support you provided. Every department was able to staff multiple apparatus and help manage the increased call volume and emergency incidents throughout the flooding event. Your willingness to answer the call and stand beside us demonstrates the strength of the relationships we have built together.
We would also like to recognize the individuals working behind the scenes, whose efforts are often unseen but are vital to a successful emergency response. The Tipton City Clerk's Office, Mayor and City Official’s worked to track resources, locate additional support, maintain communication with department heads, and ensure the needs of responding agencies were being met. Their dedication and coordination played a significant role in our overall response.
A special thank you goes to the Tipton Street Department, Tipton County Highway Department, Tipton Municipal Utilities, Tipton Police Department, Tipton County Sheriff's Office, Indiana State Police, and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers for their assistance, cooperation, and support throughout the event. Your efforts helped protect our community and ensured critical operations continued during a difficult situation.
We would also like to thank the Tipton County Health Department, whose role in major events throughout Tipton County is invaluable. Their guidance and support help ensure the health and safety of our residents during emergencies. They coordinated the set up of the shelters, handling of the food, volunteers, and many other vital services.
To the Tipton County EMA Director, thank you for coordinating communication between the State of Indiana, Tipton County, and the City of Tipton. Your leadership in organizing meetings, sharing information, and keeping everyone informed of current and future developments was critical to maintaining a coordinated response.
We would also like to thank our Tipton County officials for their continued support, communication, and commitment to serving our community throughout this event.
A special thank you goes to the Tipton Humane Society for immediately stepping forward to offer cages, food, and assistance for animals affected by the flooding. Your compassion and willingness to help were greatly appreciated.
To the members of our community, thank you. Throughout this event, we received countless phone calls, text messages, and offers of assistance. Many of you asked what was needed, where you could help, or showed up to drop off food and water. Others generously offered the use of your personal equipment and resources. Knowing we can count on the support of our community makes all the difference. We are grateful for your kindness, generosity, and willingness to help your neighbors in a time of need.
Finally, I would like to personally thank the men and women of the Tipton Fire Department. These dedicated individuals responded to every incident they were called upon to handle. Many members reported in without being asked, simply wanting to know where they could help. They spent countless hours preparing equipment, checking gear, staffing apparatus, and ensuring they were ready for the next emergency. Their commitment, professionalism, and selfless dedication to serving this community never go unnoticed.
Thank you for your hard work, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication.
Together, we demonstrated what makes Tipton such a strong community. When challenges arise, we come together, support one another, and accomplish great things.
