A little rain brings a lot of beauty to Reelfoot.

After the rain showers rolled through, this incredible rainbow made an appearance over the lake at Blue Bank— a reminder that sometimes the best views come right after the rain.

If you needed a sign to slow down and enjoy the beauty around us, this might be it. Have you ever caught a rainbow at Reelfoot Lake?

🎣 Saturday, June 6 is the perfect day to hit the water and make a memory.

Whether it’s your very first cast or a tradition that’s been passed down for generations, TWRA’s annual Bobby Wilson Free Fishing Day gives everyone the chance to fish license-free in Tennessee’s public waters, including right here at our state parks.

Spend the day teaching your kids how to cast, swapping fishing stories with family, or enjoying quiet time by the water with the person who first handed you a fishing pole. Some of the best memories are made at the edge of the lake.

So grab your tackle box, find your favorite fishing spot, and enjoy a day on the water at Reelfoot Lake. 🐟🌅

No fishing license required on Saturday, June 6 for Tennessee public waters.

🍃 Have you noticed all of the “cotton” floating around lately at Keystone Day Use Area?

Ranger Brandon Ransom explains what you’re seeing — the seed fluff from the Eastern Cottonwood tree! This time of year, cottonwoods release thousands of tiny seeds attached to soft, cotton-like fibers that help them travel in the wind and spread to new areas.

At Keystone Day Use Area, the accumulation can really stand out, almost looking like patches of snow across the ground! While it may seem unusual, it’s a completely natural part of the season and an important way these trees reproduce.

Take a look at Ranger Brandon’s video to learn more about this fascinating seasonal sight at Reelfoot Lake! 🌳🍃
