Mission Statement
The Tishomingo Fire Department is proud of its history, and serves the residents of and visitors to, the Town of Tishomingo with the following objectives in mind:
• To provide the best possible protection to the residents of the Town of Tishomingo and the surrounding communities under the Mutual Aid Plan and as set forth in the Standard Operating Procedures of this department.

To provide fire protection, fire inspection and fire safety education services to our community.

• To foster interest in all matters pertaining to the volunteer service and to promote the welfare and social advances of all volunteer firefighters.

• To inculcate love of country, good citizenship, civic virtue and self sacrifice, and to perpetuate the spirit, which from the early days has actuated volunteer fireman in the rendition of service of the highest type in the protection of life and property from fire without hope of fee or reward.

• To promote the improvement and advancement of the Tishomingo community and its residents. Core Values of the Department

The enormous commitment necessary to perform the Department’s tasks requires excellence of character. We inspire each other through pride in our Department, which is a belief that every action reflects on all the members of the Department, both past and present.
• DEDICATION
A commitment to the objectives of our mission is an essential part of our code of conduct. The faithful observance of duty calls for us to fulfill our obligations professionally and honestly.
• PREPAREDNESS
By combining all of the components of our core values, the Tishomingo Fire Department will maintain its constant state of readiness to meet all threats and challenges, traditional and new.

Around 10:30 last night Tishomingo Fire Department was paged to a controlled burn out of control. When crews arrived on scene the fire was spreading through the timber and had already burnt it self out near an occupied home.

Crews put the fire out and mopped up the area until there was no smoke.

Johnston County is still under a Burn Ban!

Tishomingo, Ravia, Connerville and Milburn Fire Departments were paged out to a grass fire. Upon arrival 5 outbuildings and 1 camper were also fully engulfed. Crews worked quickly and efficiently to get the fires knocked out. Crews are all clear from the scene back to their stations.
BIA, Johnston County EMS, Johnston County Emergency Managment and Johnston County Sheriff's were also on scene.
Location: Canada Lane, Ravia.
Cause: burning trash.
We are still currently under a burn ban.

Welcome back to the fleet 26. New and improved!

We were able to acquire the funds for this unit from a REAP grant we applied for. Redline Fire Equipment & Supply did all of the upfitting on this vehicle. We're back up running with three brush trucks and happy about it.
