Today, Hopewell Township staff wore teal and blue in recognition of Ovarian and Prostate Cancer Awareness Month this September. Our team came together to show support for those affected by these cancers, honor survivors, and remember those we have lost.

Happy August! This month's employee spotlight is Sgt. Alexis Mirra from the Hopewell Township Police Department.

"Over the last 16 years with Hopewell Township, I've had a lot of different roles within the Department. With my current role as Sergeant, my favorite part of the job is getting to help shape the next generation of officers. There's nothing better than seeing something I've taught a young officer finally click and watching their confidence grow. I'm extremely proud of all the officers I've had the chance to supervise, and knowing that I played a small part in their development is incredibly rewarding."

Hopewell Township proudly celebrated the official ribbon cutting of the new cricket pitch at Independence Park. This exciting new addition reflects the Township's continued commitment to expanding recreational activities and providing amenities that serve our growing community.

A special thank you to Deputy Mayor Uma Purandare for her leadership and advocacy throughout this project, as well as Karin Poveromo, Director of Parks & Recreation, and TJ Burd, Buildings & Grounds and Parks & Recreation Foreman, whose hard work and dedication helped bring this vision to life.

Following the ribbon cutting, members of the Township Committee had the opportunity to step onto the pitch, learn a few cricket fundamentals, and even take a swing for themselves.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this project possible - we look forward to seeing the new cricket pitch enjoyed for years to come!

What an incredible evening at National Night Out 2026!

Thank you to everyone who came out to spend the evening with us and helped make this year's event such a success. It was wonderful to see families, friends, neighbors, and first responders come together to celebrate the strong partnerships that make Hopewell Township a safe and welcoming community.
