The first is the ๐’๐š๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ ๐’๐ฎ๐ซ๐ญ๐š๐ฑ โ€” a sales tax renewal that funds safe, maintained, and modern school facilities.

The Surtax is the small portion of sales tax that stays right here in Brevard to keep school buildings safe, in good repair, and up to date. It funds three things: ๐ฌ๐ž๐œ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž ๐›๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ, ๐Ÿ๐š๐œ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ง๐ฏ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ž๐œ๐ก๐ง๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ง๐Ÿ๐ซ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž.

We are excited to announce our Grandparents Breakfast on Friday day, September 11th from 7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. in the Coquina Elementary Cafeteria!

๐Ÿง Muffins will be provided for grandparents.
๐Ÿ“‹ Please remember to sign in at the Front Office upon arrival.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our Cougar students to spend a special morning with their grandparents and create lasting memories together. We can't wait to see our Cougar families there!

Through teamwork, curiosity, and hard work, they helped care for our garden while learning valuable lessons about nature and responsibility. Coquina Elementary had the honor of welcoming Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell for a special visit celebrating student learning and educator excellence. During the visit, Dr. Rendell spent time in our VPK and Kindergarten classrooms, engaging with students, participating in a classroom read-aloud, and experiencing firsthand the incredible learning taking place each day.
We were also proud to recognize several outstanding staff members for their dedication to student achievement and academic growth. Their commitment to excellence continues to make a positive impact on our students and school community.
At Coquina, we believe that great learning happens when curiosity is nurtured, minds are challenged, and every child is inspired to discover what is possible. Yesterday's visit highlighted the meaningful work happening in our classrooms and the strong partnerships that support student success.
